Total confirmed 233,151 with 3,446 new, total dead 33,614 with 428 new.

Chartorama14-05-20.jpg

Todays status is bought to you by the UK approving an antibody test to detect if someone has had the virus:

Todays outlook is the announcement that the organisation that runs Londons public transport infrastructure "Transport for London" has been bailed out to the tune of £1.6 billion. In another seperate statement it has been stated that is is every citizens civic duty to avoid public transport.

All good fun.

Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned the state's stay-at-home order.
According to the ruling, Palm broke state law when she issued an April 16 "Safer at Home" order that prohibited Wisconsin residents from leaving their homes unless it was essential.
That order was ruled to be "unlawful, invalid, and unenforceable."

4 to 3 Decision.

The interesting thing is they ruled this based on the STATE CONSTITUTION - not the federal Constitution... which is out of purview by the federal supreme court. Wow, you folks are definitely getting a lesson in American politics.

Yes folks, each state has their own constitution.

What is the thing that makes it illegal to serve margarine in Wisconsin?

Iran is a great example of what happens when you open early.

Iran reopened on Apr 11th because the economy is going to shit.

Iran is probably not a fantastic example given the strength of their infrastructure, over this side of the flat disc we're really interested to see what happens in the US and UK.

Well thats the point. There is no wonderful social safety net there. You need to get out and get back to work, so they did.

Basically, what the court said was, go back to the state legislature and pass a LAW. It is not up to one appointed person to lock down the entire state under this specific circumstance. They (Wisconsin Supreme Court) said That order was ruled to be "unlawful, invalid, and unenforceable."

The Margarine issue is a LAW, passed by the Wisconsin Legislature. Not a single man, woman, or cow could create it, it needed to go through the Wisconsin house and senate at some point.

Headline should be "Dave Portnoy, multimillionaire whose business made $100M last year, says you should get back to work and roll the dice with Corona!"

I 100% guarantee that if goes out to work at the front lines of customer service, gets the virus but shows no symptoms, goes to visit his mom, sees his mom drown in fluid build up and die after two weeks on a respirator... his next video would be a complete 180 from this one.

Not saying he is not making any points about people needing to go back to work, but its a fairly wide spread attitude that "as long as it does not affect me or my family, I dont give a shit".

If every working American was getting $2000/month for the duration of the lock down, these cries by multimillionaires insisting you get back to work would be falling on deaf ears.

He may be a dirtbag, but he speaks the truth for many business owners. Raise your hand if you are a brick and mortar business owner... we would like to hear from you!
