All these terrific suggestions and I'm seriously considering settling for a Freelancer MIS lol.
You wont be trolling bigger ships with a Mis sorry lol.All these terrific suggestions and I'm seriously considering settling for a Freelancer MIS lol.
Yeah I know. The 'trolling bigger ships' comment is mostly made in jest. I just want to be useful when doing the upcoming Idris NPC missions. You wont be trolling bigger ships with a Mis sorry lol.
Ya I looked at a MIS also, pretty cool missile boat!Yeah I know. The 'trolling bigger ships' comment is mostly made in jest. I just want to be useful when doing the upcoming Idris NPC missions.
Looking at a cost benefit ratio here. As it is, a Freelancer MIS is more useful for me. I'm leaning towards the Vanguard Harbinger as well but the price tag is steep. I've been flying all the different bombers lately and that one appeals to me the most.
Actually, it does. When in coupled (default) mode, when you cut thrust, your thrusters fire to bring you to a halt relative to the appropriate frame of reference. When you decouple, you send yourself down a vector, and when you cut thrust, you will continue down that path until you start using your thrusters to make a change in you vector. (to change or halt your current direction and speed).Star Citizen doesn't really have momentum. My ships stop (stops relative to what, I have no idea) when I cut thrust.
being useful in the idris missions can be done with many ships. The freelancer has 4 S3 weapons, and a Connie can mount S5 weapons (at least in 2 spots...damn you J. Crew). Those will put some hurt on the Idris shields. A Sabre can be useful if the ship launches fighters, or to target turrets. A Hammerhead can be used to push the Idris's nose off target, or it can be used to just open up on the Idris iteself. Having someone be a gunner on a Hammerhead or Cutlass will be very useful on those type of missions, so you don't even need a ship. This means that even people with just an Aurora or a Mustang will be able to help out in some very meaningful ways.Yeah I know. The 'trolling bigger ships' comment is mostly made in jest. That's written under TEST's seal of quality...seems a bit of a stretch and not very well thought out...
It isn't a bomber. It is a freighter converted to be a convoy escort. Call it a poor man's Q-Ship.All these terrific suggestions and I'm seriously considering settling for a Freelancer MIS lol.
Nice. I too am of the mindset of bombing all the things.
I love my MIS. While @Richard Bong is right in that its a freighter converted to escort status it's still relatively nimble and packs a huge amount of firepower. All these terrific suggestions and I'm seriously considering settling for a Freelancer MIS lol.
Actually you are wrong, it's a missile boat converted into a freighter after the war ended. ;)It isn't a bomber. It is a freighter converted to be a convoy escort. Call it a poor man's Q-Ship.
Long Story bro!Why two Retaliators?
Note I am not saying it is necessarily a bad idea, I am just curious. :)
Funny the lore ssys freighter first. So do the stats. :)Actually you are wrong, it's a missile boat converted into a freighter after the war ended. ;)
I agree about the poor man though - well the poor men that happened to cross my freelancer mis anyway - all those mustangs and bucaneers that didn't last 5 seconds, those cutlass, connies and cats that that they could get a piece of easy meat only to taste the vaccum of space, those dual joystick sabre meta kiddies that thought 8 x s1 missiles were enough to do the job only to find that actually 4 x S3 lasers can do the job much better. The guy in the connie who sneakily followed me down to the mining outpost and attacked as I was landing only to end up getting blown up 10 seconds after I took off again.
i LOVE my freelancer MIS - I picked her up for 165 dollars, and I won't let anyone smack talk about her :D
Well, she does have a limited view of the world. And good luck not bumping your head on the rear turret getting any cargo on or off it. And good luck landing anywhere else besides landing pads with them short stubby legs.Actually you are wrong, it's a missile boat converted into a freighter after the war ended. ;)

Nobody dissing the MIS, but his first comment did say he wanted to troll larger ships and I am sorry as cool as this ship is, it ain't gonna troll large or capital ships its just gonna get bish slapped! :PDon't dis the Freelancer...with 4 size 3 guns on turrets (so you can use the gimbal assist) as well as 2 Size 2 shields, you have sizeable guns and sizeable shields...and then on top of that, with the MIS you have the missiles.
Great for transporting high-value cargo!
