I'm a little unclear about the Merchantman, some of the descriptions talk about inviting people on board to examine the cargo. Is there an actual "mercahnt" aspect to this ship, like you can sell stuff directly out of it?

As a general rule of thumb any question about the BMM is "uhhhh IDK?"

It's got over 3500 SCU, but also is a travelling bazaar and storefront kinda like the Privateer.

It's been described as fast, super well armored, a Q-ship, has allegedly giant pop out cannons.

It's like 7 years of conflicting information, and the BMM is just now starting the "actual" concepting process.

Unless the BMM swells to the size of a Kraken, then I very much doubt that it will hold even a fraction of the 3500 SCU possible, especially if part of the ship is dedicated to have some stalls like the Privateer. The only ships that come close to that much SCU are the Kraken (3,792) with the caveat that the Privateer with its shops only have ~750 SCU, and the Hull series, which mount all their cargo externally and are also giant loot pinatas.

I very much doubt CIG wants to upscale the BMM to a capital ship, but honestly I have no idea how much of a clusterfuck the reveal is going to be.

Then can once ever quarter. You get a buyback token in January, April, July and October. They are non-stackable and only usable for one item bought back with credits.
With one exception. If you melt something you bought warbond, you can't buy it back with credit.

Can always try to buy it back (assuming you have a token) and click the credits and coupon button on the 'place order and pay' page. It will tell you if you can or cant and after you can cancel the purchage. Or buy it with store credit ;)

The 3500 cargo units were the old metrics. Based on the conversions of the old to the new thanks to the scaling from the Cat & the Max, the BMM should hold approx 1k - 1.2k scu of cargo internally. More than likely that will be split roughly in half for the ships cargo & half being divided between the shops of the bizarre.

As for the size of it overall, I'm honestly hoping that they'll scale up its size to have its length be longer than that of the 890j as it was initially concepted so that the size of the bizarre can be as glorious as it should be.

For those willing to play "Hanger Citizen", *if* you are a subscriber, you have access to special subscriber warbond CCU's that can get you a BMM for $265 cash, or that amount with a mix of cash & credit

I saw this on reddit, and can confirm it works...here is the sequence...starting off with the Origin G12 Rover (which you can get with LTI if you pay cash):
G12 $60 > Freelancer $110 > Subscriber WB Cutlass Red $135 > WB Cutlass Blue $175 > WB defender $220 > Mole $315 > WB Merchantman $350

This path shows regular trade value prices. If you follow this path, CCU to all BOLD ships at WARBOND price, and non-bold ships with store credit if possible.

I thought the BMM was supposed to have a docking collar or something on it, which I assume is how people board for trade, etc. I used to have one but sold it for bank on ebay 😏
I always assumed that there would be a docking collar at the end of each wingtip that leads in. Here's hoping it has SOME sort of multi-docking system to make up for its sure-to-be-nerfed size. I'm also hoping for some advantage to the cargo bay to make up for its shrinking size, like natural cloaking from active scans and whatnot. Then again, I'm just some asshole on the internet. Could be a new death star for all I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The BMM trades by landing on planets and stations, CIG have already confirmed this in the Q&A of the Privateer when someone asked what the difference between the two ships is if I remember correctly.

I had always interpereted that statement to mean that the BMM could land (with a full hold) while the Privateer would struggle with such a task, not that the BMM would be relegated to dirtside sales alone. I mean, it would be pretty silly to give something like the Hammer Head a way to dock to other ships but not the Mobile trading vessel. Then again, who knows...Crazier shit has definitely happened

The more ways for the BMM to trade our TESTified space beer the better. Cheers!
