Hey now Drake would at least have use some leftover bulkheads and just cut holes into them for arms and legs.

It's not like a Buccaneer, it's actually supposed to be armored.
Haha, I can imagine it now. A thing of beauty. I wonder if my tin can man will fit into my Corsair.
I can't wait for my Corsair.

Maybe. Maybe not. Point is, you can build the suit so it’s 8’ tall and runs like a gazelle on the battlefield, and still be able to transport it and walk it through standard doorways.
So far the suit, as described, isn't verry effective onboard ships and stations given the armament, much less size, described. Lines of sight indoors is intentionally, in game, too short. What they have shown, so far, are open country systems. Use a Rover, a pair of Cyclones, a squad on bikes, or Tonks in those situations.

Now, personally, as an ex 11B, who was a MOUT trainer, what they have shown is not, at all, how I would design them.
I would forget putting a size 1 weapon on them at all. In fact I wouldn't even consider a size 1 weapon.

I would go smaller, so they can stand and maneuver on stations, and bigger ships. I would put 2 infantry weapons on one arm, a very nasty melee weapon (chainsaw equivalent, something that can also breach) on the other, and mount an Animus or Railgun on the back that rotates up and fires over the shoulder. Instead of 2 infantry weapons on one in three, I would, optionally, mount a flame thrower. Add jump packs for outdoor maneuverability and EVA mobility.

To me that makes much more sense.

I hope there is an industrial version of the Titan Armour for handling massive SCU loads for dealing with cargo haulers like the Caterpillar and Hull Series ships... basically a non-combat version built by Argo or something that we can play around in on the Cargo Decks or maybe used in construction for base building and player built habs!

I'm going to make a titan suit out of cardboard and tin cans.

Interesting clue though... a set we have already seen the concepts for...?
So Drake? Lol
I believe that anything that @NaffNaffBobFace puts together would have far more resilience that something that comes from Drake. Especially if he has other brilliant TESTies like @DirectorGunner help him construct it while @Blind Owl & @CrudeSasquatch supervise in the consumption of beer during said period. TESTify my brothers!

Drake wouldn't bother with leftover bulkheads as that would be too costly for their budget, so just like their ships, their "armor rating" should better be scored in terms of how many layers of duct tape cover each portion.

Bounty hunter armor or maybe also Hurston security armor. I prefer the last one, anyway since its confirmied that it is not Titan armor, i'm not impressed by all this hype by CIG.
If I'm not mistaken, a LONG time ago, they had discussed "ship jacker" armor. Did they ever release all of that? Given their discussing cloth & mechanics issues, that's what comes to mind for me there.

Careful.....starting to sound like BattleTech there ;)

One of the things I never used much in the board game was Elementals. Because I thought it was silly that they could mount weapons that would damage mechs at all. My argument was that mechs were supposed to be walking MBTs and most infantry weapons would only make MBT drivers angry from all the clattering. AT weapons are dedicated, specialty systems even the MP versions and those are often a crew system as I understand it.

I don't see titan suits filling the roles that the mechs in BT are aimed at (i.e. a bipedal MBT), but more akin to the Elemental suits which were mostly anti-infantry really....or at least they should be lol. So you're spot on I'd say with using infantry weapon mounts or hell, even hand held weapons assuming enough articulation in the hand units. Just load up a rotary gun with a big ammo store and a couple of belt fed 40mm and call it a day :)

Now when I was an 11B (And yes, that is light infantry, no battle taxi) a fireteam was 4, and a squad was two fireteams. In each fireteam was a SAW (Light Machinegun), 3 Assault Rifles, one Grenade Launcher, and a handful (4-6) of disposable Light Anti-Tank weapons. Each Platoon had a weapons squad, which was 2 Medium (General Purpose) machineguns, and two anti-tank guided missile launchers.

That is the basis for my choices here. The animus or railgun on the back is light anti-armor, and the type of weapons that are generally included in an infantry fire team.

Basically a Suit from John Ringo's "A Hymn Before Battle," Marines from David Weber's "On Basilisk Station," and Mobile Infantry Marauder suits from Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" (The book, not the movies.) The extreme version is Terminators from Warhammer 40K.

Now, if that was the design philosophy for the Titan Suits, then I would also want a different suit for the platoon's weapons squad, still not size one weapons but a medium machineguns or equivalent, a Medic Suit, a lighter, faster, recon suit (No railgun, only one infantry weapon, still needs some kind of melee weapon and better sensors.) and a Command Suit (The big difference compared to the base suit being more coms and the Recon Suit's sensors.)

I had a funny idea today. Next year for IAE, what if they have Jax walking around in a Titan Suit and he's walking, talking about it and then trips over on a small rise. "The suit's gyroscope may be perfect but my human one is not. JIMMY! Get the crane!"

This is probably a stretch but Nov 29 - Dec 02 is "Weapons & Armor Day. What kind of armor would go best with that? TITAN ARMOR! So it won't happen this year but NEXT YEAR, I foresee it happening. When they talked about the now moved Mystery Armor for 3.12 they said it wasn't Titan. "Not yet folks. " Next year, Next year we'll see it and for a few reasons:

1. Its on CIG's radar now as something people want now.
2. Sq42 'probably' needs it.
3. It would be a big money draw for CIG to have it + variants.

Okay so I don't remember what they actually said. But there was something about this new armor having different interaction mechanics or something? (having trouble finding the reference) But what if this new armor is a semi mechanized suit that will help them build out the Titan Armor?

I am a bit new to IAE, why are the dates overlapping? Does that mean we have days with multiple manufacturers same time? Asking this because I was hoping to have 2 days for each manufacturers exclusively, to purchase stuff for buybacks.

Shame on you...

This is a change CIG introduce last year, yes we'll have something like 2 day for stand, I think is a solution to allow more player to vist the expo regardless of the time zone and RL occupation...

Ah ok thank you for the clarification. I recall from one early IAE it wasn't overlaping, makes sense now. And yes that will be my first IAE that i can attend this time, being away from game a long time before, and not physically busy with work so I can log in the game 🤓

This year they're doing the expo in two different halls, the Apex and the Zenith. This allows them two days per stand, as they've split everything between the two locations. Smart.
