Just saw this video on salvage, could be of interest for those of us who haven't jumped in the Vulture yet..

I believe so, i've seen a few vids now with people using the salvage attachment. Is there an attachment for the multitool that allows for salvaging/scraping?
I'll have to track one down eventually. Someone said in-game they saw some at Port Olisar.I believe so, i've seen a few vids now with people using the salvage attachment.
I heard you could get it at Cubby Blast in A18, though didn't verify myself. Also you don't NEED the tractor beam, just sprint straight into the SCU box and you can pretty easily 'bump' it out of the way. I was actually surprised at how much 'better' the physics seemed to be when I did this!I'll have to track one down eventually. Someone said in-game they saw some at Port Olisar.
I managed to start doing some work in my Vulture until I my inventory bugged, and I couldn't switch to my tractor beam attachment for the multitool. So, I've only gotten 1 SCU of salvage thus far.
Damn, I always thought the Hulls were kinda dumb with their cargo exposed on the outside, guess I'm getting proved a bit wrong!Ooh being able to just shove 1scu crates onto the Hull A was not something I was expecting!!!
Efficient cargo transport is an interesting subject. If you look at what we do IRL, cargo containers are loaded essentially on the outside of ships, trains and trucks. The Sikorsky Skycrane is used when other solutions just can't manage. External carry actually depends upon better containers, but it has always been a great solution. The Hull series is meant to reflect this, and to some degree the Railen as well.Damn, I always thought the Hulls were kinda dumb with their cargo exposed on the outside, guess I'm getting proved a bit wrong!
They can be found in cargo centersI'll have to track one down eventually. Someone said in-game they saw some at Port Olisar.

Wow. Is it just me, or does this seem kinda excessive? I mean, it's not quite as much as a prospector full of quantanium, but you also don't need to spend an hour looking for that rare & decent rock to mine. Nor do you need to wait for the refinery cycle either.Think i'll wait for the hype to die down first. Apparently 1 SCU worth of cargo is 8800 aUEC, the ship stores 12 SCU (105600 aUEC) but you can squeeze in 17 SCU if managed properly (149600 aUEC)
The balancing factor seems come down to how much time it takes to create that 1 SCU. In the same time it took me to fill a box, I could have knocked out a couple combat service beacons, illegal monitors (provided the monitors spawn as expected) fast enough to make more money off them. And if I include high-capacity trading......Wow. Is it just me, or does this seem kinda excessive? I suppose they'll tweak it like they always do.
Well as the salvage tiers increase and the power/fuel lines get added into the game we're now looking at the risk of blowing ourselves up just as easily as mining quant.Wow.
