After suffering them for a while, disabling Hyperthreading specifically for Star Citizen seems to have alleviated the issue. I had initially tried it system-wide through the BIOS, but this led to some problems when trying to multitask with something CPU heavy like Star Citizen running.

You can disable HT on a per use basis in the task manager by changing processor affinity for the RSI launcher before launching the game.

You can do it on a more permanent basis by using Process Lasso, or if you don't want to use a third-party program, buy editing the launch command in the RSI launcher shortcut.

On a side note, disabling hyperthreading has reportedly given some people an FPS boost.

Intel CPUs only.
Hyperthreading is Intel's trademarked name for Simultaneous Multi-Threading, a technology used by several other manufacturers on their higher-end chips. The technology itself is not unique to Intel, just the name.

Process Lasso also supports manipulating SMT alongside HT and I am fairly sure the other methods should work as well although my AMD machine is currently using Fedora instead of Windows so I can't double check.

Anyhow, another fix for crashing (if this didn't solve it) is to ensure the any disk that you've assigned virtual memory space on, actually has enough space.
Well, there certainly are a lot of causes for crashing, and as such various fixes.

Very short/simplified explanation of Hyperthreading: It can take a single core and make it act like two cores, allowing for more to be accomplished at once.

E-cores: In order to lower the power eaten by CPUs, instead of having all the same powerful cores, the CPU has a selection of P-cores ( high power-eating performance cores) and E-cores (low power consuming economy cores). In theory a game like Star Citizen should be utilizing the P-cores but due to lack of optimization its workload tends to shift to the e-cores. This is why it is often recommended to disable e-cores on CPUs with them to improve stability and performance.

TL/DR: disabling e-cores is another good way to improve performance, but is a bit different from SMT/HT.

I was actually just asking if the bug was related to E-cores.

On a side note, I could really go on about explaining what a computer is. There are some fascinating aspects to the definition and the origin of the field of Computer Science, as the field predates what today we think of to be a computer.
