Ok, Star Wars Outlaws is definitely on my radar now. From what I can see in this video, narrated by Morphologis, this game looks super promising. I for one don't care if there are transitions between locations. The transitions look pretty cool. Graphics looks great, gameplay looks fun, and everything just seems to run pretty smooth.

August release!!!

Looks pretty great. Still waiting on details about the customization dynamic for the ship, speeder bike and outfit. They’ve said that outfits won’t determine bonus abilities but also that you can customize. It appears there will be a limited number of customization slots that are independent of actual outfit, etc.

Hm. Seems like a quality game, if only it wasn't in third person I'd be very interested.

Looks good!

Perhaps this will be the spiritual successor to KOTOR?

This caught my attention in April when it was advertised for preoeder at only £94.99 GBP, turns out that's the Gold version price and there is a standard at £70 GBP. How to make £70 seen a reasonable price? Have a more expensive version!

Still looking promising though, an open world is a tough thing to populate but if there is one property with enough backstory and lore that can flesh it out, it's this one.

Do we know it doesn’t toggle to first person?
While it would be great if we can change between first- and third-person perspective, I don't think Massive Entertainment really does mixed perspective like that. Besides, they've been pretty much a third-person perspective studio since the beginning, though last year they did release their, I think, first first-person perspective title. So who knows, though I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I've not watched it all as don't want spoilers, but sneaking a peek first few minutes looks promising.

I just can't get on the hype though, in this day-and-age my main concern is how are they going to ruin it all with a battle-pass/lootbox/microtransaction system built into it - it's honestly not an "if", it's a "how much" considering the huge controversy which surrounded stable-mate BF2 :-(

As per always nowadays - games cant be trusted. I'll wait for it to come out and see the reviews and what you guys think before I throe 70 bucks down the toilet on a preorder.

That's understandable & rational. Just remember that this is TEST Squadron & many of us have paid a bit more for a certain game while it's still in development, so there is a bit of irony to your statement as well. LoL Cheers my friend!

Could it be argued with the crowdfunder at least we were warned the whole project could go nowhere?

I've not even looked up what your rights to a refund are on a pre-order game like Outlaws? I know Steam lets you have 2 play hours to decide if you like a game or not, what about non-steam?

and where do you stand if try release without aggressive monetization but add it a month or two later? I've seen that happen too...

I'd say that anything can be argued, whether your argument is successful or not is still a dice roll though. LoL Sort of like purchasing a sort of food or beverage from a store that you've never heard of.

Not really. I voluntarily backed a Kickstarter project and put some money in to help it. That was my choice and I knew what I was getting into and that it could be a total waste of money with he company going bankrupt. Luckily that has not happened so far.

These triple A preorder games where you pay 70 bucks to not get it for 3 months and then what you get is a pile of garbage buggy beta at best, is not something people should just accept. I refuse to accept that so I don't buy them any more. I've bought less than 1 game a year average because of this. Last game I bought was Helldivers 2 and I enjoy it.

You sound like you've accepted the less than mediocrity, and it's become the norm for you. (And most people, sadly.)
