It's kinda weird.
The more I look at the silhouette labeled "Mirai Guardian", the more I see the back of an RSI Constellation.
Gotta be the bad lighting or something... :thump:

Personally I'm interested in that Crusader Intrepid bird.
Mostly because of the main gun. IF they did not grace it with only a single FL-33 for a main gun then it means there's gonna be bigger sizes in the FL-XX range of laser canons.
FL-55 has a nice sound if you ask me... :-)

Also that second Greycat vehicle. Small and it looks like it runs on tracks. Probably for basebuilding but that thing also screems exploring and rescue.
Maybe it comes as a set with the mad turtle?
Or the Apollo?
One can always dream... :glorious:

Isn't there supposed to be an Atlas variant that is also used for construction?
You're probably thinking about that base-building concept they showed last year?

Might actually be the one. With some streamlining done.
Didn't notice any other 14 wheeler concepts anyway.

Are these silhouettes of new ships/vehicles, or already-announced ships/vehicles the designers are working to implement in game? I need to watch this Citizencon segment again, but a number of these silhouettes look familiar? Was CIG's point of showing these to prove that in-game-design progress has been made on previously announced ships? Or was it to tease new concept ships?

I do hope cig figure out roads of some sort and utility for them because I love the idea of raiding a train/convoy Firefly style for us.

So as per Grim at Star Jump the Argo ground vehicle replaced the Atlas, he had discussions with some inside sources and they told him there are 4 base building ships one for each size.
1. Hover cart = small
2. Argo = medium
3. Misc BLD = large (Galaxy re-added)
4.Pioneer = x-large
He was also told several days ago that the Galaxy building module was indeed scrapped and not just delayed and that CIG did indeed do a 180 and re-add the module and not just clarify a post.

I get the feeling that those in charge at CIG that had changed their minds on the construction module for the Galaxy after their extremely public CitizenCon presentation effectively announcing that it would eventually be the thing just shy of the Pioneer, were given a rather stern reminder that after that presentation, they never notified us of their change of plans before the Galaxy was next up for sale at the IAE, so there would be a lot of backers with legitimate grievances that would've purchased or upgraded into a Galaxy for that since we can't CCU up into a Pioneer. This being said, IF they chose to allow those with the Galaxy a 1 time per account token / voucher allowing us to CCU up into a Pioneer, I would've accepted that as a suitable compromise.

A solo player will never need anything bigger that size 2 construction vehicles, and even those are probably going to be oversized.
Let's be realistic here, even if you devote your entire play time to building your perfect home in the stars,
this is not Factorio or Satisfactory, you are not building a giant industrial metropolis by and for yourself.

I just don't see a practical use case for the BLD and any construction models on the Galaxy.
Solo player, nope, size 3 is way too big and size 4 is just being stupid. You'd gather resources for 10 years to build 1 building.
For an Org, you need size 4 for the StarBase anyway, and you need size 1 or 2 (at most) for player habitats.
Any Industrial production buildings your Org needs, the size 4 you will therefore have can provide already.
Size 3 is some in-between that is too small for an Org to be really useful, and to big for a Solo player to be sensible.

Whatever I need to build my "House of Fish" in the front (decoration items for sale, come get them while they're fish themed) and the "Lizards Den" in the back (legal personal firearms, don't worry about the paperwork, this is legit I swear), that's what my Mule and some store credit are going to turn into.

An interesting thought & quite possibly more correct than not. Just a reminder though, you're not entirely a solo player, because you're a member of TEST Squadron & you have friends here if you choose to accept. I'd be happy to be your friend either way you decide. My point is, that if you prefer to enjoy a mostly solo experience in the Verse, with a little help from friends, you don't even need to own a construction vehicle to create your own home / base / outpost / "House of Fish" as you call it. Many of us will have vehicles that will be able to build those for you, especially if you'll already be providing the materials. You can probably get even more to join in by hosting a party with drinks once it's completed. From my perspective, the reason to have the larger building vehicles, isn't exclusively to build the larger buildings, but to be able to in case you happen to need to at some point. I hope that this helps.

I will for sure be a part of the crew that will assemble Testopia, or Testopolis, or Testville, or Las Testas, or Los Testoles, or Testico City, or any of the Test player cities that we will surely build to support our StarStation™ construction project. We are going to need a few mining and refining towns for sure. One of those towns will contain my little slice of StarHome™.

I just can't see why a size 3 vehicle would be of any use there. The large structures like landing pads, hangars and large fabricators can be build with a size 4 ship, and those have more room for materials on board. So they will be better suited to build large structures than size 3 vehicles.
I am thinking back to good old SWG, the game we are finally stealing the good parts of, and there people like me would go and build the player housing structures.
So basically not the industrial district of New Testork, but the houses along Via Testicula. The small scale construction, and those I feel will be better suited to size 2 vehicles, at most.

It just feels to me that we have a size category too much. Should have been the classical small/medium/large. 4 just feels off to me somehow.

The Size 4 is required for the largest of structures, but all of them can produce things smaller than the size grade they are designed to create up to. Perhaps the larger the vehicle, the more drones they can deploy? If so, they could potentially fabricate more items at the same time at the same rate each, or faster builds the more that are involved per creation. Also, with the super sized build layouts, those smaller units can still help fabricate aspects of the larger design overall. That's the beauty of creating a place to call home, it doesn't all have to be the same size.
