I've been fighting the interface for the past two days, when I could get in, including about an hour in offline mode in Arena Commander, and I can't figure out how to charge and fire my Hawk's EMP or turn on my Cutlass Blue's Quantum Dampner.
So they didn't just change the interface, they broke my ships?
I can't figure out how to turn it on. I have it on fire group 3. I switch to fire group 3, squeeze the trigger and I get a message, in red, that it needs to be turned on, or some such nonsense. If you can beat my stupidest question "How do I get off the toilet in my Connie?" I'll take my hat off to you.
I know the last time i tried to use it in the Sentinel I had to go turn it on and attach it to a firing group but that was many patches ago. No idea if your hawk has the same issue...?
Usually with something like this, there is a bit more noise.CIG breaking something from patch to patch? Nah, I don't believe it. I DO know that some bindings did swap around if you are using saved mappings. I, for instance, can not activate wormgates with my joystick and need to use my mouse. Perhaps something similar is happening to you? Is it an operator mode that you need to toggle on? (Like mining mode is)
Well that is stupid. In the fat fury, i have to make sure to put some power blocks into my dampener, then that turns it "on". After that there is a switch in the upper left to then "activate" it.
I'd say make sure you assign some power to it on the power display? then look for the physical switch to activate or perhaps double-check your bindings for after you have it powered.
I don't have either a hawk or cutty blue, so just going off how the Guardian Qi works.

By the Glory of TEST, nice work you two! Likes all round!Well that was it. Thanks.
That is a f--king annoying way to do things, especially since the power allocation changes all around when you come out of Nav/Quantum mode.
At least, if you have an Antares, you might be able to use those from the pilot seat now.
Holy Crap. My Cutlass Blue requires 3 pips to fire up the Quantum Dampener. The Zeus CL has 3 more pips than the Blue but it also has more shields to power. My Zeus MR should prove interesting.By the Glory of TEST, nice work you two! Likes all round!
Feels very much like a balance to try to make sure no one player can dominate too heavily without first upgrading friendship to a higher tech level... I don't doubt one day you'll be able to upgrade your ship to perform as it once did but that makes it more unique and more of a risk of losing in battle...Holy Crap. People really need to be more aware of this. I have pulled ships out of storage and tried to fly, only to have no power allocated to the engines.Well that was it. Thanks.

Button pushing for the sake of button pushing.People really need to be more aware of this. I have pulled ships out of storage and tried to fly, only to have no power allocated to the engines.
Also, I'll be flying ok, quantum, antd when I come out of quantum all of a sudden POOF no power is allocated to the engines.
More strange CIG machinations in the name of "gameplay."
My Hawk comes, stock, with a full set of military components even though it is a Civilian ship, yet I can't buy OEM replacement parts for it and to upgrade I have to use non-military parts. That makes no sense.Feels very much like a balance to try to make sure no one player can dominate too heavily without first upgrading friendship to a higher tech level... I have yet to try this out mostly as I haven't ridden in anything with a utility like that in a long while, I'll bring the Sentenel out and see if it'll have more gusto given its non-civilian roots
