I mean, she's not even a GAMER. She's from the FASHION industry. Beside affiliation with CR what the hell were her qualifications?

This is so far unsubstantiated. Granted people can and very often do get pissed off in an office environment but what DS is implying is that there is verbal abuse going on. Given his track record I wouldn't put much stock into it.I want to say this isn't the first time Sandi has pissed people off. Is it possible that she is ripping this game apart with her abrasive personality? I mean, she's not even a GAMER. She's from the FASHION industry. I've known some fantastic VG marketing/community people who haven't had much of a background in gaming. I don't know anything about Sandy outside of what I've seen in videos and such (which means I know exactly nothing about Sandy), but just because she doesn't play games all the time doesn't mean she isn't qualified for her position. For someone like her who isn't on the forums talking to people on a daily basis, knowing groups of people is more important than knowing games specifically.I mean, she's not even a GAMER. Building on this, I knew several people, staff and professors when I went to university that ended up in radically different jobs from their initial degrees and did a great job. Formal training, no matter what it is(and yes playing games is training of a kind), doesn't tell us how people will ultimately end up or what they are capable of.I've known some fantastic VG marketing/community people who haven't had much of a background in gaming. To clarify, obviously I don't mean that knowing games isn't useful, it's just not necessarily a deal breaker.
Yeah, hell I went to school for Theatre and was working at a production company doing lighting/sound for concerts before I moved to the gaming industry and started doing community management.Building on this, I knew several people, staff and professors when I went to university that ended up in radically different jobs from their initial degrees and did a great job. She is clearly doing something right.I've known some fantastic VG marketing/community people who haven't had much of a background in gaming. I think most people focus on CR and the devs not her. They are the ones that sell the game. The choices she has made that we know of have brought heavy criticisms (selling idris again, selling the glaive and how to acquire one, for example). If she wasnt there I think SC would be just as successful. She is clearly doing something right.
SC is a success.
She's still the VP of marketing, I can't imagine she has had no influence...They are the ones that sell the game
Wait, so your confirming Halo 5 right ? XDIt's games yo. There is a crazy amount of turnover. Sometimes its justified with logic, sometimes not. I have worked in games for 6 years now, I have seen a lot of good friends come and go. I myself have lost a fair number of jobs to questionable reasons. It really doesn't mean anything. I work at 343 Industries right now. We are making Halo 5, we have all the funding in the world, and we still cut people when we have to. Sometimes its a team environment thing, sometimes it is because they have a different vision. There are 1,001 reasons why people leave companies. Don't read too much into it, because in games it doesn't really amount to shit.
Look - if it was not for Sandi - then BEN would be the FACE of Star Citizen. 'Cause surely Chris Roberts is not the face of it, he was in the beginning, and is surely the brains behind it - just not the face.
to continue with Krystal's thought, I work in a 300 person office, in a 1000+ person company. We lose... I'll say 1 person a week? These are from firings and from people quitting, but turnover happens and focusing on it is not productive. Instead of focusing on the actual loss of a person or people, you *should* be looking at is what percentage of the office's total staff is being cut. 3-4 people in a company the size of CIG is only around 1%, which is insignificant.3-4 people getting fired in a company of that size is nothing. Also if CIG needs more money, they can just do a ship sale and they fill their reserves. Derek Smart is a piece of shit, lie spreading, troll that must not be taken seriously under any circumstances.
