So... I'm at Colorado Springs visiting my brother over Veterans Day and through the weekend. We where doing some gaming on our laptops, and I was just not feeling my 5 year old laptops abilities to play Armored Warfare, so... I started looking to see what was around Colorado Springs for maybe upgrading my laptop. Denver has a Micro Center so we went to visit it. I wasn't thrilled to spend a couple grand on a laptop, when my desktop at home is in need of an upgrade as well. So... I started pricing parts at Micro Center which led to a purchase.... See what I got!

Yes, I know. Not very clean right now, but I'm not at home and really was just getting it put together so I could play, and type this up!
So, disclaimers.... The RAM will increase, the store only had 2x4 at the 3200 speed so I got 2 boxes. So I will be adding 4x8 3200's when black Friday hits. This will bump my RAM to 48 gig. I will also be adding a second ASUS GTX980TI STRIX 6GB. Oh, and I gave my brother ONE JOB... and as you can see in the bottom pick, he messed it up. The fans should be blowing in... It was his first "partial" build. He did save me in a few spots where I couldn't see that plastic sheeting was still on the graphics card and covering PCI ports :)... I was in HAPPY/ANXIOUS mode...
I chose to opt out of liquid cooling at this time. I my down the road get some closed loops, but I just don't feel like dancing with the devil....
I want to do a bench test, but I've never messed with doing that, so if any has some tips... fire away!
