The issue is going to come down to how much of an improvement was actually done by CIG and how much of the improvement was handled by the Amazon Lumberyard devs.

LOL! This was my first thought as well. If placing a jpeg at the boot of the game saves you money, have at it. Better yet put "Amazon Lumberyard based on CryEngine" on the splash screens.
