Based on how quickly they have been getting things done in the last few months, it may be sooner rather than later. They have gotten quite the assembly line going for ship production. Either way, based on the price increase for the Starfarer, I am probably going to be priced out of any of those...

I agree completely... As I said in another post, it is a real kick in the nuts. The second increase doesn't seem justified and I fear for the price increases on the other big ships as the become ready. This went from a ship that was on the expensive side with moderate return in-game to a ship...

I have a Sabre and Avenger and I think I am going to switch out the Avenger for something else... It just doesn't make sense to have two combat ships. I was thinking of getting a Freelancer or Reliant for medium/small cargo runs that wouldn't make sense in a big ship like the Starfarer.

Yeah, at that price a Carrack is definitely more appealing but the Starfarer can be a good placeholder until the Carrack is built.

Yeah, I don't have a ton of faith in any AI. My plan now is to have @Han Burgundy own the big ship (probably a Carrack, eventually) and we will just take it out when we are both online. We also have the advantage of being in an org with OVER 9000!!!! members, so we can probably find someone...

This is my *exact* problem with the idea of owning a large ship. On the other hand, there will be NPCs that can help you too... for a price.

If only it was time dilation for everyone else and not me so I could actually hit something (I have questionable combat abilities).... Or, like @Han Burgundy said, it could be time dilation so I can drink between shots which probably wouldn't help my combat effectiveness.

CIG is currently working on TEST's ability to block out the sun in 2.3 PTU. I think they are making good progress; just need to work on the FPS a little. Someone got some video of it... It is glorious.
