So many are upset at the Carrack not release in 3.8

Meh, I have been looking forward to getting that Carrack upgrade for 9 months now, thanks to CIGs inconvenient purchasing scheme. Well, no worries, it's finally here... and they bumped up the price by $100. You'd need to be some sort of a pikachu to be surprised that people get upset. Well, I...

Zyloh posts that Carrack will only be ready in Feb. Surprised Pikachu!

Would it be too early to say that I told you guys that Staggered Development wasn't some magic bullet that will give the devs more time (as in man hours) by doubling the length between the updates if you at the same time halve the team size, and what they really needed to do was to recognize...

Things that are different in Canada

$1600/mo and $5k deductible? Have you ever considered getting a dual citizenship so you could just fly to some other country and get treated there? Because I think that would only be the fraction of the cost.

Things that are different in Canada

I'm assuming you really like TV? 140 CA a month, wow. If you wanted to go a step down, could you get like a better deal? Or are they only selling these multi-hundred-Megabit-per-second -connections knowing most people won't need the full capacity almost ever? Wow, that's a lot, but at least...

Things that are different in Canada

Oh yeah, let's compare internet connections shall we I got... 100 Mbps broadband with unlimited data. It's practically free, it's throw on top of my electricity/water bill, those are unlimited too for 30€/Month. I'd say that's pretty sweet deal. Ah, and it also includes dubious amount of...

Things that are different in Canada

13 thousand homeless people die in the streets in US every year, and not of old age. Homeless life expectancy is almost 20 years lower than that of a homed person. And they're not all junkies either. The problem with socialism is you run out of other people's money, the problem with capitalism...

Things that are different in Canada

As I seem to recall it, people were making morbid fun about the cost of IV bags in US even before Obama took office, but yeah, I think we can agree the system is different kind of messed up now. Holy crap. So was there like some complications and they had to do surgery, or is this the cost for...

$1000 deductible? Wow, you could buy a car for that price. So do you have like a separate insurance if it's anything less than a severed arm?

What exactly would happen if I melted my Ursa Rover Fortuna?

Okey so I get that I wouldn't get the fortuna skin back if I came to regret this decision, but what about the LTI token? Would I still be able to buyback that? I've come to realize that I don't much care for the ground vehicles at this point, not for the ursa anyhow, although I like how it fits...

Things that are different in Canada

One important thing to remember, especially on a collective system, is that the calculation is not just "(Healthcare cost) - (individual contribution) must equal zero or more". It's more like "(Healthcare cost for individual) - (individuals contribution) - (the increased condition of the...

So... why would you want to choose a doctor? Assuming they're all qualified to treat your ailments / can refer you to a specialist who can treat you, what difference would it make? (For clarification, I can choose from various public and private doctors, however I've never had any trouble just...

I think becoming a bar owner wouldn't even be that far fetched. You can own your own stations etc. Probably have some choices what to do with them.

NYMag, intelligencer; Chris Roberts on the Future of Gaming

That is how I initially interpreted it. However, there is no latency or bandwidth benefit to using a cloud based client. If you have a poor connection to the game server, adding another hop in the between and turning the feed into image stream only makes matters worse.

NYMag, intelligencer; Chris Roberts on the Future of Gaming

Ahh, I see now what you mean. Yes, this is absolutely how it works and why you'd use it. I was just confused because the question was about the latency benefit mentioned in the article, and it seemed a bit like you were claiming there to be some sort of network benefit for those with 'slower...
