Fighters better than the Ghost Hornet aren't available ATM. You want something SMALLER than a Buccaneer? That's...hard. What are you looking for in a fighter? If you want speed and maneuverability, go with a Buccaneer or a Sabre. If you want a tougher fighter, go with a Super Hornet. Wait...

I want more ships with the cockpit in an unconventional position. Like the Hammerhead. I love the look of that cockpit. Or the Reclaimer.

Yep, that's gonna be our recon squads. Our exploration fleets will have to consist of one Carrack (pathfinder), one Starfarer Gemini (resupply), and TWO Hammerheads as escorts. We gotta make sure to pack heat.

@AstroGimp01 let me rephrase my question - which plane has the best flight characteristics? I want something with good performance that's still easy to fly, since I've been out of flight sims for around three years. Gonna have to get some practice. I'd think the F-5 you recommended would fit...

Once I've got my fleet completed I'll come up with names. For now, I've got five ships, with another five on my wishlist. So we'll see.
