    Webb Space Telescope Takes Flight

Lol, yeah at a glance on a phone screen it looks decent, but a good res view on a computer monitor and the edges really give the game away!

The coming NFT crash of 2022

This is similar the concerning viewpoint that I take on things. People are quickly losing sight of the INTRINSIC value of things; both goods and activities that help meet basic needs. Back in the days of playing Oregon Trail, you started with more $ as the non-value-adding banker, but...

    Anyone else buy a GPU?!

. . . And then you can spend anything leftover on a good HOTAS/HOSAS setup! :D

    Anyone else buy a GPU?!

I agree 1440 makes for a pretty nice sweet spot, though in addition to the pixel height you also need to give consideration to the WIDTH, as you get more choices there! Obviously I subscribe to the 'wider is better' mentality, so my take is 4k be damned and the Samsung G9 is the best gaming...

    Anyone else buy a GPU?!

EVGA queue worked for me, though I wasn't so early. Still, after being patient for 427 days, got the email about 6 months ago and nabbed my 3080 for MSRP. I feel like I did my part to #stopthescalp, so I'm very happy about that. I did really need it though, my monitor is 5120x1440, and I'd...

    Will there be steaming piles?

^This, and this is why I'm not terribly excited for AmTolkizon, because AmWoTazon proved that they can only do fantasy. . . meh. I mean it was *OK,* but it was FAR from great, and damnit I want more GREAT fantasy shows! Back to Magicians for like the 6th watching I guess!

    Webb Space Telescope Takes Flight

Actually, I think the answer is 'yes,' and the deep field shot even helps show that. Einstein of course would tell us it's all relative, but here's a part of the shot that I'm pretty sure shows a far-but-not-gravitationally-lensed-galaxy: The lower orangish galaxy is clearly being lensed and...

Razer (peripherals) speaks to my heart!

Well, OK so the white letters are not backlit, but I've been using this keyboard now for >7 years of heavy gaming (without once ever needing to change the battery I might add!) and it's been just flawless. Granted I personally prefer the shorter 'clicky' keystrokes it has to the longer, more...

Razer (peripherals) speaks to my heart!

It looks. . . wired :( *Just* this past week I got AirLink working on my Oculus Quest, and for the first time was able to play HalfLife Alyx in my nice spacious living room, completely untethered from cramped, cluttered space next to the PC. I'm still riding that high, and it's not letting me...

Made an updated Guide for StarCitizen performance - this should help everyone's overall performance, specially on lower end rigs.

Maybe there's another setting issue somewhere then, as while not quite 144hz, my monitor IS pretty decent at 120hz with a G-Sync compatible* Freesync Ultimate engine. . . It's this one...

Made an updated Guide for StarCitizen performance - this should help everyone's overall performance, specially on lower end rigs.

Would love to, but without everything off I do get some screen tearing. So 90 fps with tearing vs. 60 fps vsync w/out tearing. . . First world problems! :/

Made an updated Guide for StarCitizen performance - this should help everyone's overall performance, specially on lower end rigs.

On the topic of performace, anyone else have the issue with SC flickering when enabling Freesync on an otherwise gsync compatible monitor? I leave it off and just have vsync on in SC to get around this, but being stuck with the 60fps framecap from vsync is kinda annoying.

The Starfield vs Star Citizen Controversy

I like it, looks like it should be really fun, though frankly it looks to me that Starfield is better poised to pull players away from Cyberpunk than from Star Citizen. . .

    Database Wipe Incoming 3.17.2

A bit of proofreading and editing of their written communication would go a long way too. That was hellaciously painful to read through! 'Players that we're active,' ouch!

Invictus / DefenseCon - What did you pick up or change?

I haven't flown the Defender in quite a while, and while this is all true, I recall the 'shortcomings' of it being only a size 1 QT drive and not really anything for the copilot to do. This made me think it inferior to the other medium fighters with turrets, but having beds certainly is a major...

Invictus / DefenseCon - What did you pick up or change?

Mostly subjective, but of those three, I'd axe the Defender. Connie is so HUGELY versatile, I think it's a good one to keep around for when you don't have a specific task in mind, and just want to go do *something.* And my guess is that the Vanguard will continue to persist as a top-tier...

[OLD THREAD] Introducing Spacebux - A crypto appreciation/rewards token

This was it, though not for purposes of the password reset. Even though I'd manually added the network, it didn't 'take' for whatever reason until I disabled the popups and re-added it, good to go again!

    Star Citizen Roadmap 3.17.2

The one thing I'm genuinely WORRIED about with persistent entity streaming is not being able to access the asop terminals due to the absolute MOUNTAIN of hospital robes and Pips cans filling the station rooms from floor to ceiling. . .
