    SC on this?

No problems whatsoever, with the only exception being if you're trying to run it on a 4k monitor. If it's a good price and you need a new rig, then jump on it!

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

Connie Aquila maybe, but probably not so much for any of the other variants. The pre-attached snub sorta sets the Connies apart IMO. Throw the MSR in the mix though and things start to get a little more complicated; I'd almost venture the guess that it shares more similarities with the Corsair...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

I'll bump this as both Phoenix and 600er are really great all-rounder ships that support pretty much ALL of the currently available gameplay. Fly around, fight, haul, carry a ROC to mine, etc. Especially if passenger transport is a key goal, I'd consider either of these a core ship for your...

Melting the Odyssey! A couple of questions for my well educated TESTies

I'll say yes for a different reason: Both the Sentinel and MSR are great ships for you to use, even solo, RIGHT NOW in the 'Verse! Compared to the loaners for the Ody, which I believe are the Carrack, Kore, and Nomad, well the Nomad is really the only decently useful solo of the bunch short of...

Improved frame rates coming your way in 3.17!

Definitely don't pay scalpers! But you kinda don't need to any more. Cards are now (finally, after what three years?) available from vendors for their 'inflated' MSRPs. Case in point here's a $950 3080 shipped/sold from Newegg with 'add to cart' available right now...

    Profession starter ships

So this is all pretty nebulous speculation of course, but I think the ED role model has a lot to offer here. In that game, yeah you need a bigger ship if you want to traverse the whole galaxy, but even a small starter ship can take a pretty long journey, it just takes a LOT longer because of...

    New ship 325-A ( NEW PICS !! )

While arguably not really the 'best' of the single-seat fighters with a bed, (Titan has same hardpoints plus more cargo plus 2/3 the price for example), the 325 is probably my personal favorite of that type of ship just because it's such a JOY to fly! Plus I just love that glass ceiling in all...

    400i (New pics added )

400i is a REALLY well laid out ship. I absolutely love the interior, and how quick you can get in/out of it (you hear that MSR!?!) My main complaint with it is the same many have with the Porsche Cayman: it's and is intentionally held back from being as good as it COULD be in order to keep it...

Star Citizen on track for another record breaking crowdfunding year

I don't think this will happen. ED just backed out of trying to run on consoles; it's just too hard to cram all of the various needed controls on to a 10 button handheld. Plus it's not necessary, as they're clearly getting plenty of funding from just the PC base, so IMO I just don't see it.

    Flight stick question

Yep, I saw that, and might eventually go that route, but when I was first considering trying out HOSAS the $175 for the VKB was more palatable for 'experimenting' than the E200 base + E200 grip + E50 extension required to double-down on Virpil. I'm going to give it ~6 months to make sure I'm...

    Flight stick question

I both agree and disagree with this. By that I mean yes mouse is more precise for fine movements, fingertips are better than biceps and all that. But on the other hand, mouse control gets poor when something needs a continual RATE input, as it's hard to keep moving your hand at the same speed...

    Flight stick question

TLDR: You absolutely want as much/many axes as you can afford. KB/M does NOT cut it for proper flying. Handheld controllers for consoles, KB/M for FPS, and sticks for flying. This is the way. OK, long/full answer here from someone who has spent a LOT of time flying with a LOT of different...

    Starting location

FWIW, Lorville *currently* has the advantage of the hospital being on the space station rather than in the city, so you don't need to do the whole train/elevator/request liftoff/fly through atmo thing in order to get out of there. If/when the new Maria hospital comes online however, this might...

    Starter package

You definitely don't buy a Carrack with the intent to pilot it. Rather, you buy a Carrack with the intent to UTILIZE it, and by that I mean fly it around with a group of friends and rotate through who pilots, who flys the shuttle/snub, who mans the turrets, who's in charge of the vehicle in the...

Starter ship for a first timer

YES! Titan is always the correct answer to this question. The next step *after* that is where things start to get complicated. But don't worry about that until you've covered some good ground both in Arena Commander and in the 'Verse with the Titan. AC capability is the reason I maintain Titan >...

    Scorpius expectations?

I'm sorta excited about this one, mostly because I really like 2-seat fighters. I've had the SH forever for that reason, and also love the Vanguard for it. I've never warmed up to the Hurricane, but I think that's because it always seemed quite similar to the Vanguard just without the...

'Elite Dangerous' developer cancels all future console content updates

Frankly I think it was crazy for them to even try in the first place. Same goes for all that cross-play stuff; a console is just so limited in terms of both hardware and peripherals it just becomes an exercise in futility on intricate high-level games. Leave PC games on PC and focus on making...

    Warden turning into Sentinel

I'm a PvE Sentinel guy and not much of a PvP guy, but here's what I can offer to this thread: - Erkul lies, Sentinel handles WAY better than the Warden, despite Erkul saying they have the same accelerations. Always has. - Though it sounds too late for you, best to pledge a Warden, hold the...

Mercury Cult - Now on Live! Go Fly!

No illusions about that I assure you. Vanguard is my fighter of choice, and why I don't feel the Ares will ever bring enough 'else' to the table (now or future) for me to warrant dedicating a spot in my fleet to it. And it's sorta been the same problem with the Merc; datarunning...

Mercury Cult - Now on Live! Go Fly!

Ok Merc guys, convince me to get one again. I dropped it as I got SOO sick of how long it took to get in/out of and I found the pilot weapons pretty weak if I was out in it solo. But now of course I'm feeling pretty done with the Ion, and am considering CCUing it back to the Merc. . . what say ye?
