I agree, way to many exploration ships, the Aquila and Carrack to me is either or not both, both require 4-5 crew to operate so to me if you can get the crew dump the Aquila keep the Carrack and if you want a smaller exploration ship you can solo with get the Freelancer Dur it will be your best...

But if I recall the major changes to the Carrack kind of came about because the original design was to big? Something about being able to land or dock at certain stations etc... I could be wrong.
