Budget head-tracking setup for Star Citizen.

I bought Track Hat a while back. Simple, effective, inexpensive.

    Insurance and “rare” Components

While I did some coding in college, that's never been my profession. I ran QA for a software company for 9 years. Good memory though. :) There is a time and place to bring things into a project. This appears to introduce more problems that it solves, for something that has no actual need at...

    Insurance and “rare” Components

Note, I'm not saying that insurance should cover things you can't either show valid receipts for, or can show was "legitimate salvage." I'm not even saying insurance should cover you while you're committing a crime (real world insurance doesn't in the US). I'm saying this is the wrong time for...

    Insurance and “rare” Components

Now this they could complete before they take the current planned steps.

    Insurance and “rare” Components

There are lots of other things they could be working on before this. Like real interactions, NPCs that aren't limited to a single "room," or adjusting the flight model for broken ships, or tier 1 anything. The game isn't stable enough for this. As for "always?" Nope, for the past 6 years it has...

    Insurance and “rare” Components

You were supposed to be able to insure add on components, contents and even cargo. If I add parts to my car, like a new engine, or stereo, they get added to the policy. If my computer is stolen from my car, I'm covered. If I'm driving a U-Haul full of my furniture, it's covered. In the real...

    Insurance and “rare” Components

I see this as one more change that isn't ready for prime time.

    The Return of the Rangers

Poor writing is poor writing regardless of the reason. It was the most boring kind of formula and completely flat. Too much tell not enough show. No character development. It was just bad TV.

    BMM and Modularity

I'm not seeing what CIG said as modules but as different things the ship can do in its standard configuration. For example what's the practical difference between a Black Market Bazaar and a normal Bazaar? The goods and the laws of the place you are setting up. Is it an interesting idea...

    Current ButFleet

My thoughts were similar. I was thinking this fleet needs lots of crew and while Test is a good place to find crew, I still think there will be lots of time spent on recruiting and less time playing.

    So where is "master modes?"

What's always coming but never arrives? Tomorrow, or in this case 2 years.

    So where is "master modes?"

And it'll be ready in 2 years.

    So where is "master modes?"

3.19 seemed a bit ambitious to me, though they did appear to be pretty much done for Citizen Con, appearances never tell the real tale.

    So where is "master modes?"

You do realize they calculated burn time and direction to bring Apollo 13 back with slide rulers, right? The math isn't that difficult. The reasoning behind what we have, and are reportedly getting appears to be CR's fascination with space opera, and hollywood depictions, instead of science...

    So where is "master modes?"

Wait, I'm not discussing this at a Bar Citizen across a table? I suppose that was an alcohol deprivation induced mirage. I guess I need to break out the Rum!

    So where is "master modes?"

Several dictionaries and Wikipedia. Right now, sitting at the computer you are travelling at roughly 460m/s around the axis of the Earth. You are also moving at roughly 30,000m/s around the Sun. You are also moving 220,000m/s around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. None of the speeds make...

    So where is "master modes?"

Space sim is by definition a simulation of mechanics in space. That would mean physics. We're supposed to have planets and moons rotating and orbiting. So now the question becomes speed relative to what? Hover mode wasn't realistic and has nothing to do with being a space sim.

    So where is "master modes?"

There is quite a bit of skill required, however the one pass kill which is a staple of aircombat and has been since fighters were invented doesn't lend itself well to a game. Having said that, that doesn't mean arbitrary speed limits are the answer.

    So where is "master modes?"

No, I assume that the term "space simulation" means simulating how being in space really works, which includes real physics. In space the speed of ships does have the same limit. "C it's not just a good idea, it's the speed limit." The game mechanics of things being blown off, or fires, or...
