25th Anniversary of the Death of the Rodger Young

I definitely prefer the Book to the movies. (And I own all of the movies and the Roughnecks TV series.)

You can't wait, but you are obviously waiting. I get it, that reality isn't your thing. That's OK. Your whataboutisms, don't make what CIG is doing right. If this was your forum, I would have been long gone. The person whose forum this is has demonstrated he wants me to stick around.

The foundational stuff isn't done, 11 years in. Without the foundation done you can't build a game. Like building a house on a foundation of shifting sand.

Those are end goals for server meshing, so it does matter and defines when server meshing is "done."

You can't have a sense of urgency when deadlines are constantly missed and there are no consequences. You also can't have a sense of urgency when the boss says, "it'll be done when it's done."

So then what is the number of simultaneous players on a "shard?" What is the size of a shard? How is a shard to be measured? (And that's just server meshing.) Non-specific, amorphous statements is not defining an end state by which you can measure progress.

Lockheed also brought in the C-141 upgrade under time and under budget. The C-5, on the otherhand, due to a moving target of what the end goal was, had cost overruns that were legendary.

I am familiar with Agile. We used it. There has been lots of misrepresentations of what agile is, though, primarily, not from CIG. The problem I have, with regards to progress, is the project has no end goals clearly defined. That has nothing to do with Agile. What a "minimum viable product"...

I was called an impolite name and told that if I am so knowledgeable I should have a game out. That response was strictly to that. With my experience in software development and other projects I have lead, or been part of, I have seen the difference between what happens to a project with a...

I have neither the time nor the money. Give me 250 million and I'll have it out in 5 years or less (Which would beat CIG to market.) without needing more money before release.

ROFLMAO! Thanks fearless leader. You can't measure progress unless you have an end state defined. CIG has done work, that is indisputable. But no measurable progress. If you go 5 miles on a treadmill every day, it is good for your health, but if your goal is to get to the store 5 miles away...

Traveller has a unique perspective, you don't start as some kid, fresh off the moisture farm, though you can. typically you start as a veteran, with 16 to 20 years experience. Weapons tend to be very deadly as you'd expect, with a reliance on melee weapons for shipboard use (you don't really...

There is a class of software, I'm currently looking for the better current examples, designed to allow that tabletop experience through the Internet.
