Played fór 3-4 hours. No crashes, but new cabbage is chugging really badly. Overall performance is down to like 50% of 3.8 which is a shame. Used to have 40-80fps, now it's 20-35 at best.
First thing I did after looking around and spendin some auec on clothes was take my cyclone on the ice lake. I tried to reach the spaceport but rolled it on the incline. Walked all the way up to the main spaceport buildings wall, but as there is no entrance as I later learned, I froze to death.
10/10, would hypothermia again!
The ground entry is in the buildings before you reach the spaceport right under the rails. I rolled my cyclone right next to it but as it was getting dark and there was a snow storm, I didn't see it and just kept running uphill lol
Anyways, that place is just totally amazing. It feels much more alive than the ones before.
I never really needed to drink or eat. It's not an issue like this, I think it's a good addition. I find it immensely satisfying that I can just walk around interacting with all that stuff.
Did my usual testing/light grind of box runs from microtech to crusader and back, works alright.
Bugs I found:
- being headless when without a helmet/hat in external camera
- weather effects persist on the glass of the freelancer like it was constantly frozen, repeating texture. Very annoying.
- tried a data skimmer mission, couldn't find any after 10 minutes of scanning. Probably bugged.
- tried the 890j rescue, went in through the bottom elevator, Insta death when I got to the airlock, probably the usual physics bug
- I'm guessing there is a perfectly constant wind on microtech. When landed on top of s tower, the ship leans like it's made of paper. Looks really silly. Should at least rock a little or something, currently it looks like an axis orientation error in the gravity physics with just sitting tilted to one side.
- shop kiosk bugged out and kept resetting my ui and resetting to the cover screen, while stlli having the interaction cursor up. Had to re-log.
- died of suffocation while running out to my ship on an rnr station. I wasn't wearing a helmet.
Wait, this might actually be a fix! This hasn't happened to me since like 3.6 lol, kept running around in civvie clothes all the time
Pet peeves:
Where the he'll can I get proper clothes for microtech apart from the really fancy suit with tie? I want training shorts dammit!
I haven't found spaghetti Bolognese yet. Is there any or is this such a useless universe it doesn't exist? In that case: Scam!
Some normal Ai bounty missions around microtech would be nice, having to travel all the way back to crusader to do some shooting is kinda meh.
Will upload some shots of the headless mode and such later. Gotta sleep.
Oh and all my stuff persisted through from 3.8. I think. I had my guns, ammo, armor, the cyclone rc I bought in-game, the free freelancer, and 26500auec which seems correct for how much I had last time.
Edit: haven't been to prison yet. Don't really care to after seeing boredgamers videos on it.
