That sounds ideal to me. I don't want a ton of ships because I'm not super into many professions.
I am a simple man: I like the medical profession, so I got a Hope and a Red. The Aurora and the Dragonfly are extras.

Also, I've seen other people building their fleets like "I got an Orion that I'll use for mining, a Hull C that will load the minerals from the Orion and ship them to my Pioneer, which will build some stuff with those minerals."
I don't think you'll be able to pilot or use all of the ships in your fleet at the same time. What happens to your Orion while you go and fetch your Hull C?
You'll need someone else's ships to complete a "fleet" or a ship combo. While I'm flying my Hope, I won't be using my Cutlass Red at the same time. I'll need other people who own Cutlass Reds to come and play with me. Yes, it might help to own all the ships needed for a single operation, but here in TEST we ALL have ships, so what's the point?
I was under the impression your Hope carried the Cutlass Red and your Aurora. That is cool. To move your base of operations you only have to make one trip. My other half and I will have to make several. LOL.

I am looking at Bounty Hunting. I have an Avenger Titan, for light cargo runs, and as my only cargo hauler for 3.0 launch.) which I intend to add the stalker pods for Prisoner transport, or high risk missions where I can lose the ship.
I have a Sabre, which I plan on using to support Org Operations when escorts are needed, when I need a fighter and when I need to sneak up on someone.
I have a Tali, for Org Strike Missions, for larger cargo missions, for moving ground vehicles, and for bounties, presuming the Bounty hunting module becomes a reality. And yes I am getting a living module, so I can put in a bar (They are supposed to be customizable) and meeting area, to entertain clients and, of course, fellow test squadron members.

I am still very tempted by the Vanguard, and if I don't get one, I am likely to have to change my handle from Richard Bong to Quinton McHale

If the three talis unload from three vectors the Hammerhead is likely to turn into a fast expanding ball of gas. Even if the Hammerhead is as fast as a Tali, it will be lucky to get one of them if it survives, unless they stick together for some reason.

You are dealing with point defense vs. anti-ship missiles. How fast can each missiles be effectively engaged? How long does it take a Torp to cross the engagement zone of those turrets? Also will there be jamming warheads?

Size 4 guns are much shorter range than size 9 torps, a Tali should never close against a target like that. (LOL) unless you are delivering 2 squads of Marines behind a Saber Raven strike.

Two Talis and a Sentinel is likely to be a bit more effective than three Talis. In fact one tali and a Sentinel is likely enough for a Hammerhead or a Polaris, just stay out of the front arc of the Polaris. LOL.

A Raven and a pair of Eclipses would also be really nasty when hunting Hammerheads and Polarises (Polari?)
All very good points, and I strongly concur. They do mention in the video (the commercial) that the ship is made to shoot down torps, but how many of them are really feasible? Especially considering the speed those torps will be moving at.

That being said, she's still going to be a hell of a ship, and I intend to own one. I think the Sentinel pairing can go both ways: pair the Hammerhead with the Sentinel. If you can use the Sentinel to scramble those torps, then this bad boy should conceivably be able to close the gap and engage the Tali or Polaris.

It's all theorycrafting at this point, lol. I have always regretted NOT getting the Polaris, so I will not pass up this baby.

I am likely to have to change my handle from Richard Bong to Quinton McHale
Haha, McHale's Navy. I just referenced this the other day somewhere on here. I think of that show every time I think about a TEST Fleet, lol.

While there is all of these theories of what ship is better & what pairing is better going on, I'm curious to know if there will be a dedicated communications ship similar to an AEW&C (aka AWAK) which will allow all of the ships in a linked fleet to be able to track all of the movements of vehicles, missiles & torpedoes. If so, I would hope that it would also carry recon drones to further scan an area of space to better enhance the overall field of view of those systems. At which point, it would better allow the various ships in a fleet to defend itself.

Look, it even comes in a TEST skin sometimes. :)

Oh I am not saying the Hammerhead is a bad idea. I think it is a great concept and, a role that needed to be filled and a great looking ship.

I was just responding to the post about the Hammerhead eating 3 Retaliators for lunch. :) Three Retaliators is an awful lot of strike power with a very scary time on target damage ability.

I think of the Tali as the Star Citizen equivalent of a World War 2 80' Elco, or more recent Pegasus Patrol Boat.

And yes, you responded to me when I suggested I be allowed to change the 42 on my Tali to PT-73. LOL.

It could. I think the hangar in the Endeavor was said to be able to spawn the ships of the players that resurrect there, so it might be able to spawn my Red whenever it's needed. I wouldn't want to keep the hangar forever occupied with my own ships, though, because I want other players to come and land on my Hope.
If somebody needs it, though, I'll have my Red available!

Great breakdown of the HH. I hope that mass is a typo, a connie at 61m weighs more than double the HH, A freelancer at 38m or a Cutlass at 31m weighs more, the 600i luxury model (91m) weighs 8x the HH FFS, it must be a typo. I agree that negatve space in the middle of the ship is wasted space, unless it allows for plug in modules later down the track. you could argue that the 2 hallways maybe a usefull defense against boarders ( they attack down one corridor you go out the other and flank them, or at the very least divide their forces) but with such a limited crew on the HH it doesn't add up

I mistook some things from an earlier drawing. Looks like the aft port and starboard turrets cannot fire directly forward. I'm disappointed the forward side turrets are so far out that they're in the way of the rear turrets. Why would anyone desing like that?
The rear turrets stick out just far enough that they can fire past the front turrets but only a few degrees off center, have a look at the front orthographic in the schematics in the catalog, the only turret that cannot face forward is the ventral/rear turret.

I want a Sabre Raven, Retaliator and a Hammerhead now.

How great would it be to knock out a Hammerhead with a well placed EMP and then rip it apart hahaha.

Hahaha!!!

AAAAHHHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Okay I'm done.

That a good point, but i see it more like what i feel to do...

Solo playing, freelancer transport
multi... bringing the rain where i'll be needed

Ahhh, gotcha. I must have been speed reading/skimming again. It happens. Frequently, haha.
And yes, you responded to me
Figures, lol. I'm in the intelligence trade, doesn't mean I am intelligent. ;). As we say, "it's a job, not a requirement." Haha

I do believe the hanger on the Hope was specifically designed with the Red Ambulance in mind. ;)

Disagree, the Polaris is designed to take on large ships, those torps are killer, if the Polaris can get a torp run in the hammerhead is doomed. The hammerhead on the other side needs to stay away from the torps line of fire, and deal its damage over time. But it will be great when the two work together, the hammerhead will be crazy deadly vs fighters and be able to clear a path for the Polaris to make a deadly run at a large ship.
Remember the turrets are anti-fighter and torps, if the torps cant reach target, no damage, so probably Polaris has better chances on close range

Well my small fleet is reduced:

Hammerhead
Carrack
Sabre

But I couldnt resist the design of the Hammerhead
I've hidden my wallet because of the damned Hammerhead.
Also, I'll consider buying more ships when the game will allow me to finish 1 mission. Just 1.
Haven't been able to do so yet.
