@NKato, I really like the idea, far more preferable than some obvious military hierarchy. There is a huge number of ancient deities to choose from and it would bring some cohesiveness to the Org naming convention, we might even become recognised just by the style of ship names. I think we'll need to branch out a bit from just Egyptian though. there's always Roman, Greek etc. and each has a personality associated with the name. All the better for living legends. I suppose we might, as GrammarGestapo pointed out, name them after people, places etc. and I'm down with that as long as it isn't just Earth people and places which will get generic and boring pretty quickly.
Although I like the Gods idea and am less excited about cliché' military/people/places I had in mind (for my ship name choices) to just take inspiration from Culture Novels (as I did with my name). Everyone is just going to choose what they like the sound of at the end of the day. I think it would be more productive to provide a list of suggestions instead of picking holes in someone else's ideas. On that note here's mine:
