For the love of all that is holy WHY are these buggers nearly invincible?

Hitting anything with weapons in the current state of 3.0 is impossible as is, let alone keeping lasers on target long enough to break through a NPC Gladius' shield.

Their shields recharged within seconds of not receiving any incoming fire and I can't ... I just can't.... omg...
I spent 30 minutes fighting a single Gladius last night, then another one, then spawned 2 more at another beacon at Yela. Hours fighting just 4-5 Gladiuseseseses. JUST DIE!!!!

But you have to admit, they also can't hit you. Yeap, it is hard to stay on target. If they get too far away, they just keep jousting. The only solution is to turn fast, boost after them and stay close. I presume that you didn't fly in a Gladius, which gives them the speed advantage and a chance to make distance.

I spent two hours last night against four cutlass, three auroras, and two bucks.... I used a HOTAS... I felt like I did shoulder and arm day from the non-stop battle..... pew pew pew shields... change direction.. shields re-charged.. and back at 1.

Really need to play with the weapon load outs more.. I know... but my super hornet didn't feel so super.

Yeah, I know the feeling. That is why I moved the 4 lower springs from my strafe stick to my flight stick, doubling the lower springs on the flight stick. It really helps a lot.The 4 lower springs counter the heavy top spring. I immediately ordered new springs for my flight stick and strafe stick, my strafe stick is now a little bit heavier to move.

I replaced the 2 Badgers on my Gladius with 2 Panthers and the Scorpion GT-215 with a Badger. It helps a lot. When flying the SH I replace the 2 wing Badgers with Panthers. The 2 top turret Badgers and 2 nose Bulldogs are good for spraying.

Usually I start engaging, at 500 - 300 meters hit full strafe back (full throttle + full strafe back is 0) and strafe to the side keeping my nose pointed to the Galdius. When the Gladius passes me, I release strafe back and revert side strafe to get behind the Gladius, trying to keep the distance at 300 - 600 meters. This way the Gladius doesn't get a chance to recharge shields and turn for a second joust.... I guess that I hit unintentionally the match speed somewhere in this vid, match speed + full strafe back is negative speed

Anything with a high rate of fire really helps

Just be glad you have good enough framerates to survive any NPC in the PU lol. I can't do any sort of combat outside of Arena Commander...
Gladii(?) are a pain in the butt in AC as well, but not as much as the M50! Those little buggers do the same for me, almost impossible to cause enough damage before their shields regen. Although sometimes I get lucky and manage to drain their shields enough for a missile to finish 'em off.
BTW, in the current state of 3.0 Arena Commander, if you want to win in Pirate Swarm, just get a Vanguard Warden, stock loadout will do fine, and RAM ALL THE THINGS! Seriously, it's indestructible for the moment at least. Also those 4 lasers hit hard enough and fast enough to shred any Gladius to bits, if you can keep hitting for a couple of seconds.

I've been trying the Cutlass, but honestly you need a Vanguard variant or Glaive to fight NPCs in 3.0. However Vanguards currently don't have oxygen, so its a timed death trap.
If i ever get my new computer built i want to see how my khartu-al does these days as long as you are not getting hit directly in the face you can't take those things down.(huge side shields)

Good tips. If I can get some time to my computer this week I will jump into AC to
Practice some more. I left that battle and just felt it’s time to melt my fighter squadron for more some trucks.
