Well here is a thing. The hate for cockpit struts is real, so my suggestion: Give them a purpose.
What are struts for? Structural integrity. Why would you need that over your cockpit glass and all over your field of view? Why, RAMMING of course!
The Aurora, Constellation and Polaris may have annoying struts but are all wonderfully pointy and have the RAM endowing struts that will allow RSI ships to plough on through even the most shielded of hulls.
Got struts? Get Ramming. What else could they be for?
