And you thought them trying to kill us with the vaccine was a conspiracy.
That Russian vaccine is a story in of itself. Russia has offered no evidence to its efficacy, developed it months before any other country did, wouldn't let anyone look at it's manufacturing process, details of how it works, or it's trial results. Many claims, no evidence.

I think it's telling that Putin isn't taking it.

The Pfizer vaccine has been vetted by both the CDC, WHO, and numerous other countries and independent laboratories.

Too bad 1/3 Americans wouldn't take it if it was free.

But hey the White House also passed on getting 100 million doses of it, so not like we're going to have an ample supply on hand anyway.

I was just posting that because I thought it was funny :)

But on a more serious note it looks like anaphylaxis might be an issue for some.

Its ok, Ill score you some here north of the border, along with some insulin and weed.
See he just didn't want to corner the vaccine to only be available to those in the states and wanted to make sure the world also got some. :)

But in all seriousness, I do find it funny that If Prez Trump did secure millions more of the vaccine he would have been called out for not sharing. Not taking all of the vaccines and he is called out for not having secured enough for the States population.

Hot off the presses: President trump has signed an executive order that says any vaccine doses made in the US are to be prioritized for use in the US first.

What was that about sharing? :-D

Lol. It's times like this I am glad I don't have any authority cause honestly how do you distribute this vaccine? It seems more like one of those loose loose situations where you can't make anyone happy.

- US: Incumbent Health and Human Services Secatary advises: “We will ensure a full, cooperative, professional transition, I’m going to do anything I need to do to make sure no balls are dropped in terms of protecting the American people.”

- US: Trumps Lawyer Rudi Giuliani indicated to be on same course of treatments President Trump received earlier in the year.

- World: Reduced global carbon emissions during the pandemic have lowered 2050 temperature projections by a “negligible” 0.01C. Thanks for the kind words, as ever all I am doing is regurgitating the excellent reporting from around the world from my chosen sources. Without their tireless work, I would have nothing to report 🙂

Mad stupid of them to think this
I think it's like we said earlier in the thread too - Real tangible action was once again only taken once the problem reached the capital.

COVID Catharsis Corner - Reports from around the world from today, Friday 11th of December:

- World: 69,833,475 confirmed cases and 1,587,024 confirmed deaths.

- UK: Team of scientists lead by Edinburgh University researchers identify five key genes which increase the risk of severe COVID reactions, which in turn point toward a group of drugs and medicines which may help with treatment of the most serious cases which will now be put to medical trials.

- Canada: Public Health Agency warns COVID is spreading rapidly across the country. "a stronger response is needed now in all large provinces to slow the spread of Covid-19".

- UK/Russia: Oxford University Vaccine and Sputnik V potentially to be combined in trials to see if mixing the inoculations provides higher efficiency.

- Sweden: Capital city Stockholme keeps all school children between 14 and 16 years old at home and installs distance learning as cases continue to spiral. “We must drastically reduce our contacts, so unfortunately I am forced to recommend that municipalities end on-site teaching for students in advanced stage education starting on Monday,”

- UK: Self Isolation period to be reduced from 14 days to 10 days, after data indicates transmission risk at the 10 day point acceptably low, in the hope this will encourage more people asked to isolate to actually stay at home and not break the rules which apparently most do.

- Australia: Candidate for a vaccine abandoned after some trial participants receive false-positive HIV tests.

- UK/france: GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi announce a delay with their vaccine candidate as trials revealed it was effective in people up to 50 years of age but it was not sufficiently efficient with the elderly. It will remain in Phase 2 trials while this is worked on.

- UK: 2,000 troops who had been drafted in to help run Liverpools Mass Testing system earlier in the year have received "Freedom of the city" the highest civic honour Liverpool can bestow.

- Indonesia: Sees record high daily deaths.

- Russia: Sees record high daily deaths.

- UK: Nottinghamshire, and some medical staff report abuse after turning people demanding the vaccination without having booked or being currently eligible while it goes to the most vulnerable people first.

This has been our problem with all of this, what our government deems as an acceptable level of anything.

I met someone who works in the covid labs at work and they told me they have not been following the science at all ( obvs taken with a pinch of salt ) but it shows.

- US: Hospitalizations hit record high, with California reaching capacity for Intensive Care beds in multiple hospitals and close to capacity overall.

COVID Catharsis Corner - Reports from around the world from today, Sunday 13th of December:

- World: 71,986,171 confirmed cases and 1,609,413 confirmed deaths.

- US: Researchers at Yale University identify those with more serious infection and Long COVID appear to have an autoimmune reaction to the Novel Virus which causes the autoantibodies to attack organs and even the immune systems itself.

- Germany: Country will go into and remain in Lockdown over Christmas after failure to bring infection levels back down to safer levels. There will be a small concession for a small amount of household to close family household mixing between December 24th and December 26th.

- UK: Public Health expert states mass testing could be a big waste of resources: "We simply don't know whether you'll find enough cases who would have transmitted a lot, and who don't [transmit Covid-19] simply because you found them," [...] "And we don't know whether telling lots of people they're negative could actually undermine any potential benefit. [...] "It could be the most massive scale of waste of resources." - Note the use of "Don't know" and "Could", meaning that although there may not be an outstanding amount of evidence to endorse mass testing, there also isn't an outstanding amount of evidence to condemn it, either, which has been one of the biggest issues with official responses to the pandemic across the world, where a lack of evidence in either direction has resulted in inaction rather than taking sensible and effective precautions until it is too late for them to be of major benefit. Officials point to successes in Wales, Liverpool and multiple other cities across the globe, with the Wales mass testing pilots showing a detection rate of 70% using the less accurate but faster rapid Lateral Flow tests, which assisted in pulling down case levels in those areas.

- Canada: To receive first doses of Pfizer vaccine later today.

- Bahrain: Approves Sinopharm Vaccine candidate having been part of the trials for the treatment, with an 86% efficiency.

- Spain: Expects to attain Hurd Immunity by the beginning of Autumn 2021 if enough people can be vaccinated by then.

- Switzerland: Directors of five of the countries largest hospitals recommend stricter COVID restrictions after roughly 1.3% of the population has been infected with COVID in the last 28 days.
