Wereman!?! Canada is teaching 14th century linguistics? Plus in that case wouldn't it be wereman and wifman both of which usages died out around the same time (thanks to French influences supplanting perfectly good Anglo-Saxon roots). The only common modern use of were is werewolf (manwolf) iirc.

I think that works in both directions. Mistakes exist to be downed in alcohol. Alcohol exists to make mistakes. Also remember to add salt to mistakes for it makes them taste great.
