What a difference a lawsuit makes. Gina never denigrated anyone as claimed by Kennedy. She was wrongfully terminated because of Kennedy’s political bias and neuroticism. Congrats to Carano.

They were never going to win that one, you really would have thought they'd have known better given her historic contentious posts on subjects such as wearing masks during the pandemic and amplifying claims of election fraud which have since found to have been spurious. Living your life in public is either almost all or almost nothing, isn't it?

What opportunities with Disney do you think they'll have for her? It says they're 'looking forward' to it so there's the opportunity there for some works a little outside of their usual wheelhouse do you think?

Given her history and expertise I'm thinking branching out into live combat sports could be a thing?

Note that Bob Iger and the board at Disney had already responded well before the FCC chimed in. The trouble was the gaslighting Jimmy was involved in, and ABC, Disney and the FCC didn’t want to see Jimmy fan the flames started by his lies to the point there was a legal action.

In short, Disney was for once sensible and Jimmy, was acting an irresponsible idiot willing to sacrifice Disney for short term ratings. Disney wasn’t having it.

Meanwhile, Ruffalo and the writers cared not they were all blaming the audience (again) and gaslighting.

How utterly pathetic.

The end of the Kennedy era. On Filoni, let me just say I think he gave Kennedy what he needed to in order to stay involved. If he hadn’t pandered to the feminization of SW, he would have been cast aside long ago.

Still, while pandering to the feminists, Filoni gave us some of the best SW to date, including Rebels, Rogue One and Ahsoka. As Ahsoka goes into season two, it remains to be seen whether Ezra Bridger will get his chance to shine. Let’s wait and see.

Disney's got bigger problems than Star Wars.

Multiple news outlets now report that Disney's 'Snow White' the remake of its core classic is one of the biggest bombs in movie business history. Examples:

https://www.foxbusiness.com/media/disney-loses-170-million-snow-white-flop-report

Disney Stock lost half its 2020 valuation and has settled in at levels where it was a decade ago. With no capital growth in Disney stock for years now, Federal bonds yield more than twice their 1.4% dividend return. Given that financial performance, its no surprise that the Board of Directors is now replacing the CEO, Bob Iger.

(p.s. apparently the person who wrote 'succeeded masterfully' was not an investor for just the past decade.)

Yes, that link directly above is about the $170M loss in Snow White. Unfortunately, Disney always gets creative in their accounting, and odds are good they lost a couple hundred million more than that.

Not just Iger is leaving, but Kennedy and boatloads of bad writers hired across many projects. If you’ll recall Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland bragged about how she only hired LGBTQ women to write Acolyte, and whole teams like that have been dismissed. Whole PR teams have been let go as well.

I would just note here though, that show biz has held it as a truism for decades that most writers should be in their early twenties to connect with the audience, regardless of the age of the prospective audience. So it is entirely likely whomever fills the writing chairs will have the same background as those being booted. Kids straight out of UCLA film school, giving us more of what has been failing for more than a decade. It is extremely likely the writers will continue to preach their progressive values rather than simply tell a good story.

Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rings of Power, Willow, The Shannara Chronicles, The Witcher, so many other franchises lost in the sauce of “progress” over source. So much rewritten and moved from success to failure. I am not betting Disney has learned its lesson.

I still like Filoni and think he can bring Star Wars back. We can hope for Maul. We can hope for Ashoka. I am not gonna hold my breath though.
