ERROR WARNING: Unmelting your Kraken may require concierge ticket

So... the 30th has an unveiling about a Kraken upgrade kit likely much like the Idris upgrade Kit but instead allowing the Kraken to be a place of commerce.

I melted my wave 1 Kraken intending to buy it back around when it becomes flyable.
Seeing this made me think, as with the Idris kit, that the Kraken MUST be in the hangar on accounts in order to be able buy the Kraken upgrade kit.
So, I temporarily melted my Javelin (strapped for cash) so I could unmelt my Kraken, then I could get then upgrade kit on the 30th.
Well.... after I melted my Javelin and then tried to unmelt my Kraken I got this error

"CANNOT OBTAIN DRAKE KRAKEN - WAVE 1. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE DRAKE INVESTOR BADGE."

So, the only solution now is waiting for a concierge ticket to be answered.

For anyone else with a melted Kraken, you may want to put in a support ticket before attempting to melt something else to unmelt it as the RSI website has a flag preventing at least wave 1's from being unmelted due to owning the Drake Investor badge... which doesn't make much sense but... that's what happened.

I'm guessing it was how they limited accounts to 1 kraken only. I've also seen this on the RSI forums for other waves, so it's not just wave 1

The privateer is a kit? Dam I thought it was going to be a full ship you could buy with a Kraken already in your account.

Note this was concierge ticket, so they're supposed to be faster response, but I think @DirectorGunner should be safely concierge!

@DirectorGunner - How did this story end? Did Concierge unmelt your Kraken, was it still a Wave 1 on unmelt?

Curious if anyone else has melted a Kraken (Wave 1) 'Privateer' and what happened? Did it cause a similar issue? Could it be bought back as a Kraken or only as a Kraken P?

Yes, Concierge allowed me to buy back my Kraken with RSI credit.
Yes, the Kraken pledge remained the same, as wave 1 but other than the pledge title it is meaningless.

The credit Kraken if you are mostly 1:1 dollars to RSI credit (eg you paid in about the same amount of real cash over time into RSI credit) is a terrible deal.
To add to this I bought the RSI Credit Kraken to Kraken privateer CCU and applied it.

This made the total pledge $2,000 in RSI credit for the Kraken Privateer via RSI credit for both steps.
That is a complete rip-off if you are at 1:1 for cash to RSI credit.

So I melted it and if I want to buy a Kraken again I will buy with cash the two-pack warbond which is a much better deal.
Or I will sell a couple of my BMM's in-game at release to buy a Kraken Privateer in-game.
It depends on how my future finances will go.

Any time you melt (reclaim button) a pledge with a CCU applied you lose that CCU forever. You get back all the money/RSI credit you spent on the CCU. As always.

In your situation, you will lose your Privateer CCU forever if you melt your base package Kraken (that has this CCU applied), and can buyback your Wave 1 Kraken from your buybacks whenever with cash or once a quarter with RSI credit.
No, your privateer CCU will not show up in your buybacks.


EG. My Kraken Privateer CCU is now gone forever.. and I don't care. As an RSI credit Kraken > RSI credit Privateer is a complete ripoff in terms of price.
You can get TWO endeavor master packs for the same price. It's stupid. I don't know what the heck CIG was thinking.
