High risk transport

I am asking your help, i have difficulty to choose between the Constellation Andromeda and The Redeemer... I need your advice. I want to specialized my self in high risk transport...

I like the versatility of the Andromeda
For the Redeemer, i like the fire power and the gun ship roll for ground support...

I have the Retaliator with cargo modules for high risk cargo transport. For high risk oersonal transport I have the living modules. I skipped the dropship module.

Tuff decision, as the redeemer is a tiny gun boat. Agree with Marcsand2 that the tali would be a better choice for high risk transport.
But.. if I really only had a choice between redeemer and a connie.. I'd go with the phoenix. if between Andromeda and Redeemer. I'd probably go redeemer.

The Redeemer isn't much of a transport. The Andromeda is an awesome ship and it's really versatile.
I voted Andromeda, if those are the only two options you're considering. In the same price range, I'd also have a look at the Terrapin and the Retaliator.

Problem with high risk cargo is that it can be scanned so smuggling would need something that can prevent scanner detection. That would be the Phoenix. Its cargo hold is made immune to scanning it has more armor than other connies and a PDS incase the jig is up and you need to get the hell out. In my opinion thats its main strength rather than VIP transport which is actually nothing but a personal transport with you being the VIP.

The Redeemer has such a low yeild for cargo that I would not recommend it for cargo, even high yeild low volume cargo.

I'd pick the Andromeda or Phoenix for the better cargo.

I'm guessing that you can only do a $250 price range because of the question. I'd say that your best bet is a Constellation, Freelancer, or Cutlass.

Really depends on how you wish to transport your goods. Do you want to be solo or have an escort? Solo might benefit better from stealth or undetected gameplay. As a group, bigger may be better.

I'd argue that the Aquila might be best because of the extended range but that might be too much. The Taurus would be ok but may have the least amount of armor once CIG puts real armor in game.

I am not sure about The terrapin, but i dont like The retailiator... since i bought The eclipse, i tried it and it so not me

If you need to take someone or something small. It makes it a hard target...

Really depends on the mission too.

How far is the run and where does it go? Is faster better than cautious advance? Are there places to hide? Do you need lots of fuel? Would smaller jump points help out? Should you hide it with other cargo?

So many ways of doing this. So many playstyles and ideas to think about.

Another thing to think about is since so many ships can be used to do the same job, which one would you rather have when not doing a high risk cargo run?

When I first read the words "High risk transport", my immediate thought was "Oh my god, did you ask someone here to pilot!?"
Anyways, I'd go with Andromeda.

I voted the Andromeda even though it is a bit slow and if you get attacked by a highly maneuverable ship you are going to go down.(unless they ever fix those damn turrets and make them really useful.) The maneuverability of the Andromeda is awful in its current state but since it has 2 sets of turrets its doable. if you are fighting other slower ships though those front side guns will tear up anything in their wake.

For high-risk transport, Andromeda. I don't have one, I'm not a fan, but you can't argue with the versatility of the ship. I love the Redeemer too, but as a transport . . .*shrug* what will she really offer? We have no idea how she'll actually play. I'd get a Andromeda. At least you can play that ship for the time being. Redeemer is a ways off.

I'm sure I remember from a video relating to the 890 Jump that you can be rated based on the quality of your transport. If the Andromeda offers sufficient protection use it and get those extra points for comfort. If you need to resort to a Redeemer then get an escort and take the Andromeda.
