Meh, I don't know how I even feel about Star Wars anymore. Rey really does nothing for me. She's like the Harry Potter of the Jedi, no training or effort on her part and yet she still comes out on top by a large margin.

The latest trilogy of the Star Wars saga has a legend, that is the legend of "the Mary Sue". I'll be glad when she & this new trilogy are done & gone.

I agree entirely. It's like watching a pet that you care about being put down because it got a scratch that became infested because nobody that could do anything to fix it, bothered to do anything to fix it.

Meh...Star Wars (IMHO) was taken out and beaten to death Casino style. The first three Star Wars films are all the Star Wars I need.
I believe that you mean the original Star Wars trilogy & I would entirely agree that they were the best.

Yes, that was the former SW Emperor Palpatine. I guess GoT was right in the saying, "That which is dead, may never die."

Disney killed Star Wars because they are infested with SJW ... things.

So I say good riddance to Star Wars & all hail SQ42, the new, true & future home of Mark Hamill where he is truly appreciated.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I just hope Admiral Gender Studies gets to shine in this one as well, she is my favorite since JarJar! ( /s, in case someone didn't get the memo)

Long ago, I heard a theory that I've thought about from time to time. Based on the theory, all of the events of the Star Wars movies were the fault of Qui-Gon & Obi Wan meeting Jar Jar in the forest that day. That if they hadn't met him, they wouldn't have made it to the palace in time, the droids would've captured & probably killed the wrong Amidala look-a-like. Then the galactic senate would've punished the Confederation, had the planet set free & Palpatine never would've become voted to be the head chancellor that would become the emperor.

I see a lot of old farts complaining here, but that is because you are old farts.

My kids absolutely love the newer Star Wars, it has truly moved onto the next generation (including Clone wars and Rebels).

I try show them the original episodes, but they just look "old" to them.

Add to that the fact that my oldest is a girl and having Rey as a powerful Jedi is as magical to her as Luke was to me when I was her age.

The problem is that the magic we experienced with the original 4,5, and 6 is something we can never re-live. We saw it, we experienced it, and we can not get that again. Way too many adults were hoping to get that sense of awe as you saw the AT-AT walk across Hoth for the first time. You will not, that time has passed.

The younger generation are the ones that get to experience it with fresh eyes in episode 1,2 and 3, and all the new spin offs.
