Looks like stat for the Guardian are out and there is some leaked interior photo too:

I personally don't agree don't expect this to have some cargo space, but if that is the case it's a good candidate to replace the Titan in my hangar (mostly due to the interior being more refined...).
Stats wise not much impressive outside the guns, be I can live with it.

On the one hand, goodbye Sabre, hello Guardian is what I had planned.

On the other hand, Guardian has a bed. By my own rules, if a ship has a bed, it needs to be named.
So if my current store credit is sufficient to turn a Sabre into a Guardian, I need to figure out what to call her. Hrmpf.
It's always something.

for looks alone i'm tempted to get it... with the bed, it's even more tempting...

don't mind if it has cargo but that would just shoot it over the moon...

to bad it just doesn't fit inside the ironclad... but going to try anyways.

So this is not in Erkul yet, but it is in the SC Performance Viewer. So some observations.

It’s listed in the viewer as no cargo, but it does list a weapons locker. No suit locker. My sole disappointment is lack of storage but perhaps it has a nice size ship inventory.

I like the S2 missiles. Rattlers lock at 1/3 the range of any S3, so you can use them up close but still out to 10km.

This ship has +30 EM and IR armor, so it is very unstealthy, up until you switch off guns and shields, when it is suddenly extremely stealthy: EM 6k, IR 2.5k. That is running a single Slipstream stealth reactor. EM goes up significantly with two reactors powered—which has never shown in Erkul. If you want to fly this on the sly, definitely use a single Slipstream and add a hotter, military reactor when you want guns and shields. If you wanted a ship to bushwhack others with missiles, this is the ship. That S2 cooler on S1 reactors provides superb cooling. Adding ADB5s, EM jumps to 9k, which in my book is no longer stealth. So not like the Firebird that it can use guns inside its stealth envelope. Firebird remains the only ship that can fire guns unseen.

Sensors are indeed S2. Much better vision than the Sabre or Talon missileboats.

Speed and maneuverability are significantly better than the Sentinel.

To optimize the Q tank range, I suggest Civilian A Hemera. This is a very long range ship. Swap in a fast drive when you need it. There seems to be room on the floor for storage.

I do not see an elevator anywhere. Seems odd CIG would get this wrong so perhaps PV is wrong and there is an outside access elevator like on the 300 series.

Running in stealth, your biggest signature is cross section. This is relatively uncommon. The ship’s stealth use would be extremely enhanced by Void Armor, moving +30 EM and IR to -30 or so and reducing cross section.

Beautiful interior. I love it.

So the big surprise: there is a second version. The “QI” variant. It includes half as many missiles but S3, and it includes a QED. So this version is a Quantum Interdictor.

Makes me want one of each. I really like this ship, despite it has the worst view of any fighter. So I’ll ask again. Is this really a fighter or is it an explorer?

I quite like it might give it a try instead of my beloved harbinger for a bit.

Only problem is you know it's gonna be nerfed to 2 x S4 guns in a few months.

Here is a new video with actual footage of the interior:

Definitely no cargo grid but some space could be used for small boxes.
Interior looks nice but a bit cramped, a little more in wideness should benefit it a lot on the feeling.
Like the armour/weapons locker right at the exit and with their own compartment.

And BTW: it fit into the Polaris...

I believe that I'm not alone in being extremely curious about how much this beautiful beast will be offered for.

From what little I've seen about this, it seems as though it'll fit in between the F8C & the Vanguard Warden. Having long range & an interior like the Vanguards (though probably not as far of range) in a single fighter ship, but having less overall DPS than the F8C to find a sense of balance between the 3 heavy fighters. As for the Scorpius & Hurricane, a large percentage of their combat damage capabilities requires a 2nd player.

Only problem is you know it's gonna be nerfed to 2 x S4 guns in a few months.
Sad but most likely true, though I suspect that the nerf hammer won't hit it for closer to 6 months. So probably closer to ILW or Alien week next year.

Well that went from theory to in my hangar really fast.

Went for the QI version as: "it is identical to the regular Guardian, aside from the addition of the quantum dampener and upgraded powerplants. However, it does incur a small weight and cost penalty, and the quantum dampener is power intensive, requiring the pilot to balance its use with other weapons."

Likely run with the QD powered off most of the time and make use of the extra power, and if its ever needed, then that's a bonus for a mere extra $10.

Finally some data are out and it looks really good... skin looks good too, I love both the red/white standard and the red one.

The only problem I see in it is the price: 300$ (not warbond) for a single seat combat ship is a bit overpriced in my opinion but seams that CIG is beefing up their price tags this year: I mean I've payed the MSR something like 250 and while not as viable as a combat ship it has way more gameplay option in it.
Not a chance that I'll get it for cash, but I'll definitely get one in game: it looks cool and it has the potential for building some interesting setup with weapons.

Yes, it looks like I was wrong about the launchers. They’re the same. What I would like to see are the stats for reload time. That’s a big deal with any quad-shot. The Vanguard advertises its launchers as fast. It would be good to see comparisons between Guardian and Vanguard.

The Guardians both have an enormous edge in that they’ll fit in smallish hanger bays like the Polaris whereas the Vanguard will not. This is a huge advantage. As previously noted, you could theoretically fly any number of Guardians off a Polaris since they have their own beds and can refuel in the Polaris bay. You can’t do that with a Vanguard.

You can imagine the added functionality of a dozen QI flying off a Polaris, all with their nets spread and reinforcing each other when they snare something, all under the watchful eye of the Polaris‘ missiles, guns, and torps.

I'd say that the price is relatively in line with the F8C, but without the pedigree & prestige. This being said, IF you're willing to spend some cash on it, you can get it for much less through the CCU dance.

You can currently hop from a ($155) Prospector to a ($250) Guardian for $35 instead of $$95 via:

($155) Prospector -> ($185) F7C-R Hornet Tracker MKII / F7C-S Hornet Ghost MKII = $10
($185) F7C-R Hornet Tracker MKII / F7C-S Hornet Ghost MKII -> ($220) Terrapin Medic = $15
($220) Terrapin Medic -> ($250) Guardian = $10

As the Prospector is always available for purchase, this can be easily added into many different CCU chains that lead up to a prospector with using store credit to fill in the gaps. Which is my plan for adding a Guardian to my fleet. Cheers!

Cool ship! I picked up a Guardian QI via Defender CCU.

Thanks for a new ship over the holidays, CIG. I felt that the IAE event was maybe missing a little something, and this one fills that gap.

I hope someone will equip for silent running and report back their signature numbers. The two calculators are giving wildly varied results. With shields, guns and one reactor off, how low can you get your sigs?

I understand the functionality/flexibility of an external missile bay but I always get a chub when a ship has missile launch tubes. Given that the Mirai brand has such sleek lines, I just don't get why they didn't have internalized missile bays? Not a deal breaker in my mind, but my heart pangs a little thinking about it. Either way, I LOVE the bubble cockpit and overall aesthetic of the Mirai brand.
