Video came up on a screen refresh on YouTube. I like it a lot. I mean the video. Reserving judgement on the ship for now.
I had the Polaris, but melted it when I saw how big it was, and I had about 50 friends who own one. This one there are more people I know that own it, including some that have a Polaris. I'll just serve on their ship instead of owning one, for now.

Im a fan of the vision they have for big ships, it sounds like fun, but Im not really sure about the long term viability of the fun factor of being on a big ship for extended periods of time.
It's a fair question. The original idea of having players log out in other players ships to continue a play session later seems like something in the very distant past at this point.

As to ship sizes.. Running around with a small crew in the Polaris has proven that it's a great base of operations, really flexible for anything OTHER than Capital level combat. But there is a huge question about how much work Engineering gameplay is going to create.. how much of a timesink will it be in a game session?

I'm favoring ships with a medium quantum drive these days, even with the limitations that places.

I agree. Outside the few times I have found myself hauling as much as I still love the Carrack, I tend to find myself flying around in the Intrepid. Yes, it sucks to do a corpse run when a glitch or lag sends you back to the medical facility, but it's generally not a very long flight back. As for the Perseus, it's an ok ship, until they fix turrets. Would still like to see how it does in combat with a crew of 3 against large and capital-class ships.

I agree, medium class components are good. Combination small and medium is even better, like the pairing of one small and one medium reactor in the Sentinel, allowing serious flexibility.

On serving aboard the big ships, keep alts in mind. I definitely will have separate accounts for playing aboard ships far from port on a periodic basis. I can imagine ships fully manned 2-3 times/ week by the same players, who are off playing solo the rest of the time.

Some annoying bugs on the perseus.

Elevator buttons are finnicky sometimes work sometimes are not clickable. Frustrating.
Ship always wants to dock on a docking collar and won't dock in your Large hanger. Very Very Frustrating / Game breaking.

Other than that I love it :D
