You want most value for the cash IMO and I like many others like freelancer, Mercury, Titan etc.. etc..
Since Mercury is not a flyable ship yet and can't have opinion on something we haven't seen and Freelancer is more like a school bus there is only one left.

That got Cargo, Medium fighter that even with the single pilot can kick some serious but, it got tractor beam and a awesome scanner etc...etc..

To me probably the freelancer if you want a little more freight and a little less pew pew. Also lancer at its current state is much faster in QT than the cutlass. In general Lancer is meant to be "long range"

cutlass ist the most well rounded bang for the buck on paper, a little more pew pew than the lancer. But is meant to be "short range".

And this is where you should start making decision:
If you think you want to do trade i would go for the Freelancer MAX or Connie Taurus and earn a dedicated fighter ingame. If you think fighting to earn money is your thing go for a dedicated fighter. If you think Explorer thats my goal (however it turns out) go for the DUR .... or Carrack (the answer is always Carrack). ....

I think trading/industry will be my main profession so i got me -> Max and Caterpillar.

I'm not a freelancer guy... i just don't like the desing of the ship =/ saw too many crash-sites of it XD

Why is this so good in your opinion?

I have a Sabre and a Cutlass Black,

i was thinking about getting a prospector to do some mining (not really sure about this because in every space game i have played, shooting to rocks is not really a good way to make money because of the time/profit formula)

Could get an Andromeda to make trading (medium size ship) and also use it to explore, would get the "gunship" one so if i have to defend myself i can do it.

Was thinking about getting the cutlast black with the Nox too, they make great combination,

the more i think... the more confuse i get... LOOOOL
First, it is from Drake, so not much else is really needed.
Second, it is a solo salvage ship that is supposed to come with an handheld multitool that does detailed component scans, salvage operations, and component repairs.

I get bored with mining quickly and mining looks like it'll be incredibly tedious, but salvage looks interesting to me especially since maximizing profits will involve doing repairs of recovered components and improving repair skills will aid in repairing your own ship or doing repairs when working on someone else's ship.

Not really a well rounded ship, but if looking for a solo ship that can make money even when you're flat broke and mining doesn't interest you, then the Vulture should be at least considered.

I have to say I love the reclaimer, how it looks, and how is supposed to work, is just awesome, I would like to do some mining and also get a Merchantman to do trading... But since I'm not rich yet, need to keep a low profile until I pay my computer (to play SC lol) so i need recommendations, which ship do you recommend, reclaimer, merchantman, prospector? Or one bigger than the prospector?
Reclaimer. Go for it. It is going to be a real kick to swallow Vanduul Blades whoile after spiuking them, and waiting top see what happens once they're in the Reclaimer bay. People are going to be calling you every evening to come clean up their mess, so there's that. The question is, how do you feel about playing the role of space garbageman?

I guess I never really saw the Carrack as being a mid sized ship nor its cargo capacity being appealing. Especially when you compare it to ships like the 890 Jump which about he same size and has almost twice the storage capacity and far better weapons, or for a little bigger the Merchantman with 3 times the storage capacity and better weapons. The only thing the Carrack has on them is a capital class scan and a rover bay. After all its primary role is described as expedition and while it might be able to see enemies and avoid them its not really going to be successful in fighting them or running from them once spotted.
It's a large ship, but it is slated to come with a cap ship scan package (despite what the ships page says.) The advantage over the 890 and BMM is not just the scan. It's the hangar. The hangar will support as many fighters as you want to pay for escort, so long as they fit. Also note the Carrack's modules are not considered part of the cargo spec so if you dedicate them to cargo, it would likely rival the BMM.

I see.... i guess good options are the Carrack, Reclaimer (garbage man sounds great when you can keep enemy ship pieces for yourself, very lucrative IMO), the 890 sounds good too..

I have another question, since the sale "should" be the next week... want to know the differences or the meaning of,

Original Concept
Warbond
Original Warbond

Because i'm looking at the https://starcitizen.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_ship_and_vehicle_prices

Now all we need is an Original Warbond Concept Pre-Order and we'll come full circle.

Original concept was when the ship is first put on concept sale and usually includes a hanger (in game) poster of the ship (for the first 4 years or so warbond wasn't a thing). Originally this gave LTI but that has changed and so now the equivalent would be original warbond. Quite frankly I do not think it matters. What does is whether the ship is upgrade from a different ship or not. If it is you cannot melt it without loosing the upgrade so the preference is for an LTI original or LTI warbond. Of course if you absolutely know that this is the ship for you no matter what else comes out or changes then heh it doesn't matter.

The midsized ships seem a decent compromise between profitability out right cost and difficulty to run and I hope we end up with midsized mining and salvage ships.

Yes, though I think some of the sytems were designed to be incompatible. Last I checked (many months ago) the Vanduul reactors and coolers will a single unit, and were heavier than UEE equipment, so you would not port that over. OTOH, the Vanduul plasma weapons are superior alpha strike weapons. Like their ships, they want to do huge damage in the first instant, so if you were designing a stealth attack bird and didn't want ballistic, the Vanduul S3 Plasma Autocannon might be to your liking. Not sure if it would require too much reactor for stealth though.

Certainly we should be able to sell some reclaimed Vanduul equipment.

And the key issue--the Reclaimer is flying now. Buy what you can fly!

I'd have to go for the Avenger Titan or Freelancer Base for the best overall well rounded beginner ships. Affordable and pack decent firepower, and can haul, sleep explore, etc.

Who needs more!!

My takeaway is the modules are the cargo space, and the hangar is not going to handle anything bigger then a snub craft like the x85 or Archimedes/Merlin. So the Gladius wouldn't be able to fix in the hanger, and snubs while great for getting out to explore are not really going to help with protection.

Yeah. The original spec on the Carrack hangar was it would fit the original Avenger too, but no telling what will happen. Virtually every ship grows larger in development, so I would not be surpsied if they make the Carrack bay fit small dogfighters. The Gladius is very small and poses a serious threat against attackers, so there is hope the Carrack will present a formidible target given PCs in their own fighters.

Also note those big turrets could grow, both on the Carrack and the Polaris. When their original specs came out, S6 was the biggest gun. Now there are S1-10. My guess is the spinal mounts intended for cap to cap engangements will be the S10s. It will be very interesting to see what the S8 weapons on the Kracken present as. My guess is they'll be really scary against fighters--one hit kills is my bet.

Pretty much what everyone else said; Avenger Titan, Cutlass and freelancer are your best bet for well rounded cargo/fighter ships. All of these ships will be able to do most things available in the PU right now and carry a space bike sized vehicle, except maybe the avenger (Not sure after the size increase).

Just glancing over--if they make the Carrack Bay just 18m, the Blade, Buccaneer and Hawk will all fit. 20m the Gladius, and Eclipse will fit. 22 M the Hurricane will fit. 24 M almost any dogfighter will fit.

The Bucky only needs 15 M, so whatever they do with the Carrack, there should be ways to make it a flying death stop. Even those who don't love Drake will admit that's a potent little package. Who in their right mind would attack a Carrack if they knew there were even a handful of Bucky's flying escort? Not me, unless I had a very serious plan to cope with the fighter screen, and that requires the Carrack itself would need to be a potent prize.

Carracks rock. Don't discount the hangar bay. It matters a lot.

Depend on your budget...
Avenger Titan < Reliant < Cutlass / Freelancer < Connies < Phoenix < 600i < Valkyrie < ...

Not sure about the avenger. Up to freelancer AFAIK can carry bykes and such. Connie’s and larger Rovers, etc.

The valkyrie can't haul cargo, so it's out. Also, the Phoenix is a better all rounder than the 600 as it can carry 2x the cargo as the 600 can.

If you want the best all around solo ship, Freelancer or Cutlass. If you want a bit cheaper, then the Cutlass. If you want way more expensive, the mercury.

For group play, the Connies (Andromeda/aquila) and then the phoenix in terms of pricing low to high. After that, you start to get too specialized
