This (but smaller) should have been a big module for the Caterpillar. Landing pads extending like wings, room for a couple Buckets to park. Caterpillar becomes Butterfly, makes too much sense to be implemented.

Overall, this Drake contest just makes me sure I was right to dump the Caterpillar. A little bummer for me, I was a big fan of the Cat until it got released. Explorer/scanner, salvage processor, mini-carrier, all these options should have been modules for that "ultra-modular pirate fleet centerpiece." I know its not what some wanted, but at least for me, now that the Cutlass is the actual "Evil Twin of the Freelancer," I've got the Caterpillar I wanted.
(EDIT: Not to mention, Cat's command module could have attached and piloted different hulls of ships. So many options and opportunities that I think will be squandered for the prospect of selling single-role-focused ships.)

Voted for the Vulture, but not overly stoked for it. With the fluff about "EVA salvage operation," seems the Cutlass should be filling this role.

I would have much preferred a Drake tow truck or tug boat concept. Enough engine horsepower to pull a big boat slowly to get repaired or Reclaimed, but when not pulling weight, fast as can be. Fits both law-abiding and law-breaking uses, perfect for Drake.

Seriously though, I was kinda pissed they didn't have a Drake starter ship in the list. Something in that $50 range for a badass upgrade to an Aurora while still being balanced with the other starters. Would have opened up the market a bit more for new Citizens as well. But now, everybody is losing there shit over a Drake Cap ship and we'll be stuck a big, expensive ship, that most people want but won't buy.

screw the carrier, we need small salvage
Exactly, what Printimus said. However, since the carrier is going to win, I suggest the name Manta or Skate. Rays and skates are flat for a landing deck and are followed by Remoras who attach and feed off them (sort of) and travel with them as a kind of escort. Kraken will be ok, but names like that should be reserved for that largest class of ships, not scout carriers.

You might want to check the stats. As of 3:57am Cst, the tally was Vul - 44 , Cor - 18 , Kra - 38

Also, the names of the ships given are "code names" which means those are not the final ship designations.

I went salvage too but I recon there are a few in design already the guy on the happy hour bid said his arm hair was on end and red flags when lando described the starlifter having multiple arms.

Sorry boss but I voted for Salvage... I just picked up a Prospector and the idea of a counterpart for 1 man operations in Salvage appeals to me. I also like the idea of a Capital Ship for Drake but maybe not a carrier based one, maybe a Frigate or Corvette class, or even a straight Battle Barge of sorts I think would fit Drake a bit better. Being rough n' tough and armed to the teeth, punching well above its weight class and holding its own for a solid amount of time, I dunno.
