And here I was thinking you were a purist Squeaker, very disappointing, very disappointing indeed . . . . *SOB* I feel so alone.
But really, while I am sure CIG is not going to be restrictive in the roles we can play as pirates, I would highly encourage you guys who plan on being the jack of all trades to seriously reconsider the piracy profession. While GIG has said that they want pirate game play to be open ended they have also gone on the record saying that becoming a pirate will come with consequences and those consequences will be our access to resources and roles that will be available to lawful citizens. As to date we do not know just how hard the hammer is gonna come down on us who choose to pirate. We may be able to get back into the Empires good graces by paying a simple fine, or we may be STUCK ON THE FRINGES OF SOCIETY UNTIL WE DIE, or until our characters die. My point being is, at this point in time, you want to pirate, you better choose piracy first because that is going to limit the things you can do in game. You want to escort someone, well you wont be going into UEE space, you want to salvage or mine, well don't expect to get those posh legal contracts. You want to tour-guide some VIP passengers? . . . really? would you book a cruse with a pirate? Or BOUNTY HUNTING???? that may sound good, unless the bounty on your head is bigger than the guy your after.

So, just saying, If ye want to be a TRUE PIIIRAATE get ready to spend your days bored out of your mind sitting on a rock waiting for unlucky merchants to pass by, not saying it will be that bad, but it could . . . .

Im sure if thats the case, many people will just get a 2nd account for pirating.

Nah man, I'm gonna be out in 0.0 for the long haul. Alt for boring UEE carebear stuff and touring maybe, but I could give less of a shit about my UEE rep.
