Since this was bumped I will consider the first page of posts and this last page of posts the only ones that exist because god help me I'm not reading that much. So I don't know what was discussed.

So anyway, my first thought as I read through the aforementioned posts is I would like to just set up scouts that hang out around oft-traveled ports and bars and wait for someone looking to hire protection for their ship and relay any relevant information back to us (support type, amount, location, etc.) and then set up our shenanigans accordingly. Hell, I wouldn't be opposed to players actually taking the support gig, perhaps asking for some payment up front, and then getting "overpowered" by our pirate fleet.

Also, we should make our pieces of 8 out of crashed Aurora parts. I call the cooler.

Also don't forget that our pirate squadrons (which we do not have any set up yet, waiting for you know, the game to be more complete :wink: ) are available for "hire" out to other divisions.

I'm sure we can work out details later but basically what I imagine is, say Rock Raiders giving us the location of a rival mining fleet they don't mind pissing off, and we go gank the shit out of em. Then RR's moves in a conveniently placed Reclaimer, and BAM we split the salvage 50/50 or 70/30 or whatever.

I clean up after myself :slight_smile:
I've got a Crucible, Reclaimer and a Catt to add to any fleet (as well as a few more active role ships for the job). Also up for helping you crew one of them a few times instead of us all turning up single piloting the things :D (I can see that happening a lot throughout the verse which will be an advantage when we find a single crew hull D or E ).
I'm not sure how it will work but they have said that you won't gain criminal rep from salvaging ships if you are not connected to the person that did the attacking. We might all be lumped in together by the test link but maybe not. For big scores it might be worth experimenting with a fleet of crucible and reclaimer plus minimal escorts "just happening to arrive on scene a couple of mins after the attack". That way there is no hurry scraping it, it's all fine with any advocacy that stop by, and we can split the profits later. Maybe even have the main force hang around far enough away but close enough to come back if any other pirates try their luck as we clean up. I know it's a lot more involved but will enable us to take and split everything and do it with no penalty from the law... Worth experimenting with.

Also I have all the main scanning ships which, as well as helping scout a target will help us see how far each fleet we feild will have to be from any given situation until we can be confident of not being tracked from the scene of the crime.

A lot of good ideas from the OP all the way through this thread + love the flags. Lookin forward to having a "little look" in many a carg hold when the mechanics are in place.
Lastly i'm completely onboard with leaving all other Testies alone..... and of coarse..... BEER (as the rest of the comment felt a bit to serious :-P

Just to add.... after extensive testing I can now confirm a single piloted Caterpillar does not fair well vs 5-6 fighters (and a lone Aurora who I'm happy to say did not attack ), even when you turn up at Karesh (where the security mission is in verse ) shouting BRING IT in chat. I didn't die but I think that may have been due to them laughing to much to kill me. Just something to bear on mind when planing your pirate fleet.

As I've said in many threads, I don't mind working a turret or engineering on someone else's ship. We'll make plans and do awesome things when the time comes :) For now we just have to collect ships :D

I have a suspicion the Aurora may have been from Test because... well it was an Aurora, so I was technically in a wing which is probably why we kicked ass (read : barely made it out alive due to misplaced confidence and alcohol).
TBH I think half the ships where too surprised a loan Caterpillar had deliberately traveled to their "blockade" to start a fight :D...
I've still got half a bottle of wine left so I might head back and take them on solo in EVA mode.
