edit: yes, typing this all out did also hurt cos I can barely bend my fingers. But it was worth it, shouting into the digital void helps!
Well, even if you didn't know that it helps we'd fully expect of you to TEST it out.
Good thing it does though. There needs to be an outlet for stuff like that. Vile machinations of Megacorporations and the dangers of being a carbon based lifeform alike.
And sadly, we can't always drink ourselves into a stupor.
Then again, maybe I should TEST that statement first...
So Skøl,
to your health and this thread reaching page 1049!

I was watching Resource management and thinking just how utterly entertaining its going to be with us trying in all ernest to be professional and yet utterly fail. i mean some might be capable if they where sober others haven't a chance even if they did abstain. Either way our ships will all be brightly polished with no component damage due to them just rolling off the manufacturers ship yards before we step foot upon them and leave them wrecks.

Well, crap.

When I was a kid I used to watch a TV show called Doobie Ducks Truck... It's only just twigged to me, as an adult I know what "Doobie" means...

No I don't know why the giant chicken has a rifle they are in Blackpool it's not like it was legal to have a firearm in the UK even back then.

First known use:
Go to then, you come to me, and you say,
"Shylock, we would have moneys," you say so. . . .
Shall I bend low and in a bondman's key,
With bated breath and whisp'ring humbleness,
Say this:
"Fair sir, you spet on me Wednesday last,
You spurn'd me such a day, another time
You call'd me dog; and for these courtesies
I'll lend you thus much moneys"?

Did I ever mention how much I hated English Lit in school?
The word didn't fit the tempo so he shortened it, and consequently we learned another way to say abated.

But wait... what is a bated breast? It almost sounds good, unless it's a sharp.

I to wish to hear more on this subject.

That's fantastic! Have not yet read that one, mostly because it appears I can't read.

I thought "baited breast" was like meaning boobie trap, because of baiting hooks for fish and traps for animals etc. Baited breast, a definite mis-hering on this occasion I think.
