Out of curiosity, is this friendly chatty greeting of random strangers a thing in the big cities of Canadaland as well, or only outside of those?
Over here in Budapest it's entirely non existent. Even in bars random ppl only start to talk to each other after midnight when everyone is already totally wasted, otherwise ppl keep to themselves or their groups. It's the total opposite outside the city, you can actually chat to random ppl without them calling the cops on you for acting strange lol.
We got a couple of forests and hills basically inside the city where ppl go hiking. It's great, if you don't mind that it's filled with ppl like it's a main street in Tokyo. What's even worse is the new trend that random "hikers" greet each other! Imagine you trying to ignore the mass of hikers around you and enjoy nature, but you can't cos they keep saying "hi" and "good day"! Wtf! Leave me the fuck alone with my thoughts, eh?

Well, it varies. I should be clear, the Ottawa Valley is a rural area, with some smallish cities and towns. In larger cities, it quickly becomes more like what you describe. I've visited the UK, France, Germany, Czech republic, Poland, and a few other places... and I spent 6 months in Russia for work once. But never made it to Hungary.
Yeah, I lived in Bridgewater, New Jersey long enough. I've lived in Texas for about 11 years, but find it's about the same. Less mace, more open carry. But in rural areas, people are more likely to talk when they meet you. That happened up around Syracuse NY too, so you're not all that far from it.
Ah the joys of traveling for work. I think the best was my non work work permit I got after spending several hours at the boarder crossing into Canada at Niagara Falls. Of course flying from the west coast meant this all happened after midnight.
As for New Jersey... Not sure there is more that needs to be said then has already been said by countless others.
I've heard of a non work work permit... I have no idea what they're for, just a suspicion based on friends of mine that have had them.
I means I am allowed to perform work but not seek employment. IE I was able to fulfill the obligations of the contract for my US based employer whom I am employed with, but I am not being employed by or being directly paid by the Canadian company.
It was always amusing as I only got these permits a handful of times while most of the time I was just waved through after being asked what my purpose of the visit was. I did end up carrying a letter penned by the company lawyer which said something to the effect of By way of NAFTA you are required to allow passage. Which I at the time I felt was a bit pushy but who am I to argue with lawyers and perhaps he was from New Jersey.

It looks like this time they did better. No issues logging in, making character, most of my armor, weapons and ammo is still here although the mags for the weapons I had equipped last patch are now missing. Been on new babbage for 20-30 mins now, all fine so far.
Got all my ships as well, and a Glaive for some reason??
Glaive is part of the Halloween event and in fact you are suppose to use it to kill 50 people to unlock a vanduul mask. The other mask is if you visit a location in game. So far I have not been able to access my equipment or ship gear it keeps saying selection waiting.
Oooh, neat! Does it work with NPC ships or do I need to kill players?

I'm really pissed off now. This new landind-takeoff system of forcing you to follow the damn corridor is the most idiotic bullshit they have done so far! I just got blown up cos I forgot it exists, cos it always starts somewhere waaaay off-screen, and headed straight up from the hangar at A18.
After like 5 seconds for a moment the autopilot took over, then BOOM!

I understand why they think it's a good idea to implement the corridor, but entirely taking away the controls from the player should NEVER be an option. It's just very lazy, very bad game design.

It depends on how your Monday turned out to be. If it went well, they did stick it perfectly. If it was crap, they crashed and burned and possibly hit a nuclear power plant and blew up the place, hence no footage of the landing.
