As many of you may or may not know... Rexzilla streams daily for an hour or two. He does not care who you are, he just invites everyone playing to his group. They try to do 25 on 25 missions, splitting his groups into the opposition force and the other group into the attacking force. He is awesome at what he does... but, I am saying we should not hesitate to just go out there and do stuff even if we fight against ourselves (don't you pirates want to fight against the law ? - Red vs Blue). With ~18k people, I'd think this would be a lot of fun. As you can imagine, we're still in alpha, but we can still play this way. I can tell he is a Rexzilla is hardcore gamer but he takes setbacks very professionally and accepts the draw backs as part of his job.

Capture the flag, defend, attack, asset protection, etc.

I've seen several of his escapades on YouTube & I agree that his groups look & seem to be having a great time together. I'll be interested in joining things like that when my health allows me to get use to the new flight systems as well as actually learn how to do the FPS in SC. Feel free to lol if you want. I openly admit that presently my in game skills suck, but I'm looking to improve them as my health allows. 1 of the things that I'm looking forward to the most once SC goes official launch is to periodically go back to the starting areas, look for new / beginning players & help teach them how to get started doing the various things that they would like to try out in game. As they'll be new, the only thing that I'll be hoping to receive is a new friend & a positive start to their SC gaming. This might seem silly or crazy to some, but I've learned through the years how much a helpful & friendly start to a new game can make the rest of the experience that much better. The more positive the initial player experiences happen to be, the better the word of mouth tends to also be. Which hopefully will help further grow the SC citizenship & make the overall game a better place community wise.

There's something this causes, just in case you weren't aware... People who receive help from someone early in the game, can end up org mates too. You don't even have to actively recruit them for that to happen, it just does. I've played MMO's that this was the way the most active guilds were made, and some of my community of friends were people that I helped.

I saw this thread and wondered, do you ever wonder why we're here? But then I realized I can't pick up chicks in a tank.
Yes you can. I met my wife while she was slaying dragons in a game. The best part of our relationship is, she doesn't bug me when I'm playing SC. So if I can find a chick that way, so can you. I do admit that it took a little more time than going to a bar and getting drunk, but I think the choice was better.

We do these types of events also. Last weekend we had TSMC Training, this weekend we will have a continuation/improvement of that.

We have had 25v25 events in the past as well.

If you want this type of activity get involved, log onto discord voice chat, and express interest like this thread.

I expect to see all of you that like this thread in discord voice chat playing. The more activity we have the more events we can do. If you want to run an event type it up and we will help you get it put in the events part of the forum, posted to guilded, and remind people on discord.

See you in the verse (discord).

If my being myself & helping new players get a better start into the game also causes them to want to join our Org of wonderful members, then all the better for us to further enhance the SC community 1 player at a time. I love making new friends & being a good friend when & where possible.

We have done that long time before Rexzilla showed up, no 25 vs 25. Why not? because no 50 guys showed up. Pay attention to TEST discord #events, and we might pull it off.

We do these types of events also.
Try catching us during our weekend events!
hmmmmm, you are not in my contact list, that only can imply that you never participated in a TEST event. OK, after I hit the 250 limit, I must clean up, happened a few times now

Discord should NOT be the place you post events... c'mon. If you want participation, put it on the darn website. I login to discord like once a month. I check the website daily.
These events have been posted on the forums in the Events section of the forums. Also, we use Discord to facilitate the events, so you need to be on Discord if you want to participate.

Discord is used for comms, without comms, no event.
Lol... uh huh... I get the purpose of discord... Discord = coms. Website = "Written" information. When I want to talk with someone, which I don't, I'd get on discord. I think busy people do not spend all day listening to other people talk. Discord has its purpose... and scheduling events on it is not one of them. I'd say the website is the "proper" place to display that info. You, know what, this is stupid... why am I having this conversation. People disagree just to disagree.

All I'm saying is that there are 7 people in discord right now playing Star Citizen together. For the past month solid we've had events every weekend, facilitated by discord and posted on the events forum averaging 10 to 20 people in each event. If we (people that usually run events, officers) see more active people we will commit to bigger events like 25v25 battles. If you want to be seen post on the events, be in discord playing in voice chat with other TESTies, and help get other people involved in events.

Not here to argue. I'm here to guide you to getting what you say you want.

They're explaining, not disagreeing. Nobody is asking you to get in Discord and stay there all day. I mean, you could if you wanted but it's kind of pointless.
Discord has a voice chat client built in that we use for communications between group members, while they're in the game.
The events are posted in the Forums here, and on the Calendar which you can access either from the main menu here, or in Guilded.

Toys recommends Discord to all TESTies regularly for good reason. Even I can tell it's the place for the cool and happenin' peeps. Just go. Won't kill you.

You are wrong about the disagreeing part. If you check my profile, then you would notice that I'm a very active forum member, but still, I acknowledge that other mediums have their purpose.

People disagree just to disagree.
I love you ColdDog, but you are wrong on this one.

Discord is about 20% voice comms and 80% text.

Anybody that wants to be part of any event needs to be on Discord. We have it on our phones, on our laptops, PC's and refrigerators.

Alerts are sent out all the time for all kinds of events. Hell, there is even an #Events channel which is fed directly by the guilded bot to cross post events into discord.

The most active members of TEST rarely use the forums, they are in Discord all day, every day. We moved to Discord from Mumble when Discord was pretty much in its infancy. There was a time where we had the biggest voice comms on ALL of discord. We had Discord devs come into our channel and ask us all to use voice at the same time so they could monitor the network usage to see how it reacted to large groups all using voice. It was pretty exciting being on a new, unproven platform, we were not sure how it would work out!

Obviously Discord has been a raging success, not only for TEST, but for millions of users! When a disruptive technology emerges, you can choose to ignore it, or adopt it. We adopted it early at the risk of our forums losing traffic. Thankfully we have a strong forum user base made up of individuals such as yourself, so our forum usage continued to flourish, but Discord usage took off like a rocket and continues to have amazing growth!

If you prefer not to use discord, no problem, you are simply missing out on 90% of the daily activity in this org.

If any of you have anxiety or shyness and do not want to use voice, no problem, there are text channels! Come check it out!
