An officer is someone who's paid more, to do less. But they also do get the privilege of getting fired when enough peons do something stupid the officer didn't even know about, so there's that.
Well, also an officer has to start at the bottom, and as they progress they understand less and less about more and more, until they know nothing about anything. Just ask any Sargent.

I did once drink a beer through another mans sock and he through mine in a contest of Drinking greatness... yes, he may have won... but the holes in my sock which allowed him to chug his beer meant my foot stayed dry whereas his was damp for the evening. A win in my book.
Can never have too much beer, playing to the crowd is this one!
I'm still stuck on how drinking beer through a sock would be a win when it comes in a great container for drinking... unless you already had too much.
