The only reason you SLI are for a couple of things:

1) If you have 3 or more monitors with high resolution.
2) If you are going to be using parallel computing for anything and need the power.
3) If you are going to be watching many porn videos at once.
Quadfire because I never want to go under 60 fps @ ultra in ANY games. Also, benching.

The only game that hovered around 60 FPS was ARMA 3, after the alpha though it stayed around 80 FPS. I don't understand your argument.
That may be, but what are your FPS minimums? I never see low dips like that even when running fully modded out games. Crysis 1 fully modded/3 all above 60 fps minimum. Metro: LL? Same.

To each their own, its not a big issue for most, I personally just hate dropping.

Set distance (view and object) in ARMA 3 is killer, that's the only thing that will ever drag my GPU down. As for your question though in alpha , since ARMA 3 was rebuilt from the ground up, the game ran with an average of 57 FPS on my GPU with Max settings on everything expect view/object distance settings. The reason you would want to SLI/Crossfire is to have more parallel computing power, but more so, have more GDDR RAM available to you so that you can have more load more textures (hence greater view/object distance means more things all at once).

I hate the dropping to but only ever experienced the dropping in ARMA 3 in that case, otherwise I have ~150 FPS on Crysis 3 maxed out in combat in multiplayer.

In SLI/crossfire VRAM is not doubled when you add a card. If you use a 290X (4GB) and add another in crossfire you still only have 4GB usable. You would still have the same VRAM wall.

Didn't know that, it's sad that in parallel computing you need to mirror data amoung multiple cards to utilize them. I can see the benefit but if you don't get more memory I guess the only solution is to buy mainboards with a dedicated graphics data bus (think AGP but with a wider bus).

I don't know, I just think it sucks having to wait until Nvidia or AMD think it's fine to add another Gigabyte to consumer graphics cards every two years.

My rig:

Mobo: MSI 970-G43
CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.2 GHz
Nvidia 660ti (gonna upgrade to a 970 or possibly R9 380x/390 depending on benchmarks/hardware)
16 gigs RAM

Solid computer, runs SC @ 1080p high like a champ, just want to be able to run 4x AA at a solid 60 FPS.

No picture because my cabling job sucks big time.

Man... i need to build me cool LAN party Pc one day.

I always loved those customized Pc people make (especialy the Steam Punked ones)
But dude, those are some awesome and some weird Pc's lookin there!

Love the Hot Rod (it has Turbo!), I don't even know what to think of the one with all those models around it, and the coffin is freaking me out a bit (don't know why)

Also... That Tie Fighter table/pc combo is freaking awesome, and a great idee... why did i never came up with an idee like that!

Waiting tell we get closer to SC release to build a new pc you know to be on the safe side...
But right now and dont hate me for saying this but I own a X51. My laptop went out a few years ago and I needed a new pc and I was going to build one but my ex gf bought me the X51 and she didnt know she thought it was a good buy since it said gaming pc. At this point the X51 does really well and I cant atleast play SC right now.

But again Next pc will be a SC build may even put a TEST logo on it we will have to see.
