So having recently been lured back to star citizen, and since i now have a nice 3D printer, i have been looking up simpits for the last many days to gather inspiration and ideas.
And i am thinking i want to in the end have a small room simulator. But since extruded aluminum is so expensive here, i was thinking about wooden skeleton and then 3d printing some nice surfaces on the inside to make it look like a futuristic spaceship.
(also been looking into joysticks and all sorts of other stuff)
But here's my quick test print of a 225mm x 225mm plate. It is by no means the finished product, it's more a test of seeing the surface finish and the rigidity of it.
Next step i'm thinking about making some square stackable boxes, that you can click on a plate like this. Need to figure out the click system though, and how to do curved top surfaces too (though that's going to be near impossible with the same finish though.)
