I had an idea for a parcel service using Mustang Alphas.

When considering smuggling vessel out of currently released ones, two pops up to me.
The MIS. It can hold it's own against bounty hunters and possibly break blockades or such. And IIRC the Freelancer commercial said something about scan-proof, secure cargo container or some shit like that. Other one is the Red. I mean, who would search a medical ship for illegal goods?
Thoughts?

I recall the Freelancer commercial mentioning shock-resistent cargo bays, but not necessarily scan proof. For that, I would like to direct your attention to my smuggler of choice...the Phoenix. Which does feature "a hidden sensor-dampened area for your most precious cargo." Casually fly into the system, breeze through customs, and make delivery of the cargo while sitting in a hover-lounger with a beautiful model, drink in hand, in a beautiful remote beach resort.
Yes! I want to outfit a Taurus as a blockade runner(or maybe a member of the Hull series, they are supposed to be rather modular). The Phoenix has the little smugglers cubby, but I feel like you'd struggle to make such a small cargo area profitable. Of course, I have no idea how large the cubby actually is, or how much adding shielding to another ship would restrict your cargo area, so feel free to ignore me.
I like the idea of using a red, you could smuggle stuff inside stasis pods, like in firefly!
Edit: Also, the Beta has a little smugglers cubby, but again, I don't be able to think you'd be able to fit enough beer in it for yourself, let alone enough for a profit.

I bought a Cutlass......duhh, what do you think. I'm sure there will be all sorts of illegal booze from pirate planets that I can smuggle back to Test HQ.

I'll probably have a smuggling alt to act as a middleman/fence for stolen, I mean liberated, goods (or just contract it out to a TESTie). Sounds like a good, morally unscrupulous way to make some fat paychecks.

I'm interested in smuggling, although I would rather act as an escort than actually fly the stuff. But yeah, smuggling sounds like fun.

Smuggling, yes on my main/only account. Freelancer MAX with it's 4xT5 thrusters (same as the coni) on it's much smaller frame means it will be zooming at full burn. I've heard some people say that it will eat through fuel, probably will just cut back on the making it all shiney and pretty to actually upgrade the engines and fuel.
