Will your people be landing on planets with potential hostile life? Or have the need of an escort?
I have no idea. Currently, the priority is mapping out the systems and figuring out what links to where; planetary exploration is very tertiary to that. As a result, I plan on NOT taking my rovers with me when I use my Carrack for the early exploration push.
This is exactly the long-term role I imagined for my Carrack when I bought it. One look at those long antenna spires and my mind went straight to SIGINT. I'm happy to put my Carrack to use in these ways, pending of course that the whole PU turns out the way we expect it to right now. I'm excited! Party in my Carrack, you're all welcome to the IVs in the medbay the next morning!

I am part of a small group, D set (Deep Space Exploration Testies/Team), that will be doing exploration. Found this post linked in another and thought I would post saying we would be up for working with you guys, always good to know the others doing similar things. Our plan for the most part is to go deep space and send back info to the escort and mining teams and to take the not as good finds/jump coordinates and sell them off to non-clan people in the pu (clan gets all the goodies right? lol). Anyway thought its never to early to start relationships with other teams!
*Edit: I forgot to mention my team is starting with a constellation class ship most likely will be upgraded to a Aquila. And if anyone would like to hang out with us well we explore they are welcome to.

Condition 1 - Please stop the use of the term 'IMGINT' - Replace it with the term 'IMINT'...
Condition 2 - Can we rename this collection of deviants to anything that doesn't abbreviate to IS - IS are a bunch of inbred cunts...
Condition 3 - You have to call me 'Flaming Dragon'.

I'm in, and so are my Carrack and Constellation Aquila. I'm even going to throw my Retaliator in there for some recon by fire. I agree with Faenrir though, a name that doesn't abbreviate to IS is needed.
I originally considered the use of "IMINT", but it was too ambiguous, so I went with IMGINT. Denied.

Cool story bro - IMINT is such a vague acronym - IMGINT really focuses in on what's important - and who gives a fuck what real world intelligence agencies call it anyways... The CIA is so last season...

I'm really interested to see the various reconnaissance and surveillance systems that end up in the final game. It's going to be fun learning how to effectively employ the different tools at our disposal to become the eyes and ears of the squadron.
