I tried that. No bueno. I would have had to return the one for credit before I bought the other. Didn’t want to risk it.
Got my ticket but still in the air if I get to go. Current vehicle wont make it that far.

I has ticket, WTF is with the hotel prices in Austin, It was cheaper to fly to Germany and get a nice hotel last year, And I live in the US!
Sounds like you should try the Hostel scene i heard they are pretty cool(at least in japan and europe) ive never done one in america.

so turns out Austin City limits, a big music festival is going on before and after Citcon, hence why it's on a Wed.. so hotel's that are normally 75-150usd are now charging 400-700 usd... this is going to blow up in their face me thinks, pretty poor planning..also probably why so many tickets still available.

Doesnt need to be a room together it could be several rooms. If you buy them in bulk usually a hotel will offer discounts. normal group sizes need to be like 20, 50, or 100+. depends on the hotel really.
You may be able to score an AirB&B midweek that sleeps a few people.
