So I've been searching the forums to see if anyone has talked about or asked about info on an Exploration Group. I don't see one on the Groups Page, and threads on it seem to not exist. So what are your thoughts?

We definitely need one.
However, it is a bit too early to plan much.
By 3.2 and 3.3 we really need to start an Exploration Group.
For now, let's start by proposing some names for it......... Come on guys & gals..........

Special Programs & Intelligence - charting jump points, forward/border intelligence/recon - SPI's
We have enough TESTies, we can probably find everything by luck.

Whatever we name it, can the group motto be:

Which roughly translates to:
"Searching for my ass with both hands"

Because fancy people think that latin is fancy.
Not taking into account that it is actually a dead language and that there are multiple ways to pronounce things (Classical/Vulgar) and wars have been started over less than "we have the true way of pronouncing the ancient/holy language".

Aside from the excellent Fancy People explanation, Star Citizen is set 1000 years in to the future, I'm hedging my bets that Latin will come back in a big way between now and then... Either that or a language that has been dead for 1700 years will have been dead for 2700 years so people will have to google (Or Spectrum or whatever info-source search engine there is at that point) what it means.
