So after a bit of a hiatus and have just recently finished stalker2 I've found myself updating and logging into sc.

While it is nice having persistent hangers it's amusing to see a little nox sitting alone in the middle of a giant xlarge pad that just came up from the void.

After an hour of playing around in the hanger figuring how to park the smaller ships so that they could remain to be loaded in bigger ships I proceed to head out of hurston in the Polaris. Only to have the game crash and the ship shown up as unknown. Over an hour reclaim count down ened that session.

The next day I spent far to long looking for the tractor beam module for the mulitool. Before attempting to load 9 boxes into a c2 before once again the game crashed.

While I expect the game to be buggy this seems to be rather extreme or it could be the servers on the west coast usa have been smashed all day and are puckered out

I couldn't even log in for a few days with a 60k.

Then after that got resolved I had a 30009 error that hit, so no logging in for a couple more days until finally a character reset worked.

Yep, just a little buggy.

The December build is, as usual, a completely shit build. It isn't just the crashes, but the inventory database is also complete shit.

Well for me patch 4.0 has been pretty educational.

- I learned a lot from the documentations I watched while waiting to log in.
- I learned that if i place a gun (or a backpack or something) on the cargo grid of my Conny and then pick it up by hand I fall through the immediate ground beneath. Be that a planet or a landing pad.
(I blame the fact that the Conny's elevator and said ground are on the same plane)
I should park my Conny on top of a locked ship and check if that works too one of these days... :-)
- I learned how to find my quest targets without relying on a marker.
- I learned that I can farm Laser pointers on Hurston.
- I learned that just because it's a friendly bunker and you got that mission the turrets still might shoot you for trespassing.
So do the guards. (Woke up to that little problem in the back of my Nursa)

Well, IF the servers work and you are a hardened SC Alpha veteran then you can have some pretty decent fun.
A sensible and sane person should stay clear though of this bugs on parade festival.
Until Patch 4.03 or something.

I've been feeling slightly guilty for having not even tried 4.0 yet. Between work and family stuff (building the big Lego Millennium Falcon with my kids!) I've been trying to finish more of Elden Ring. You guys are making me feel much better about not being online in SC lately! Looking forward to jumping back in when the general impression of stability improves. I just can't justify to myself spending multi-hour play sessions in SC with a fair chance of zero or negative progress. It's fun, sure. But with all the bugs, not as much fun as other things. It'll get better sooner or later.

That alone is a worthy cause as well as a sufficient excuse for being absent from 4.0.
Besides, depending on the state of servers, navigating kids through a 1200+ pieces puzzle might be relaxing in comparison. :o7:

Tried to do the save stanton mission for some quick cash. But the laggy servers just have my ships explode shortly after warping to the becon with no indication as to why. Maybe I should try the warp to Pyro.
Going through the jump point and back is The premier experience of 4.0. At least when I tried it, it was surprisingly flawless.
Other than that, nothing else seemed to be stable enough to warrant jumping into the game so I stayed away, waiting for the 4.01 or whatever the next patch is.

I have to admit master modes is not all bad. I like being able to control when the ship moves between the different modes unlike hover moded. Which I wish they would bring back with it being toggled by vtol. But right now landing mode seems fine and the shield recharge after switching off quantum travel is quick even on large ships.
