The only thing that really disturbs me is the recording of audio and video snippets for potential future use of user identification. That shit is entirely fucked up if true.

Then again, I'm not entirely worried about my data being used for anything nefarious by Microsoft themselves. If it were, even by accident, and it affected me personally in a public fashion, hello field day in court and a new mountain of money to sleep on.
Yeah, I hear what you're saying. I don't really want to take this convo too far but since ATT has been mirroring everything they have to the NSA, I'm already assuming that anything Microsoft collects will ultimately end up with the NSA as well. Courts don't really matter when the data is already out there.

The snippets thing is only for cortona when you set it to only recognize you :D and for learning your voice (which was first in vista). But I agree I do not worry about them having my information, if something happens with it they will pay out the nose and quickly lol

Google is my evil overlord, and the only one that I approve of violating every aspect of my privacy. That's not to say that I don't accept that other entities do it, but Google is the only one I approve of.

I live without auto complete, voice search or saved passwords. No history on google, Nothing signed in on Android. My info is still all over the place and associated to my IP (which despite not being static, never actually changes). It's not that I have anything to hide but when your details, words, location, habits, spending patterns and personal associations, can be searched, edited and manipulated to paint any picture, it's not a good place to be. Imagine an automated system flagging you because you act suspiciously (using encryption!) and deciding that because of A, B and C you are now on the 'list'. We've overtook Orwellian nightmares a long time ago.
Want to protest, get in to politics, speak out against injustice? Sorry you looked at porn once, your word and your reputation are shit!
Extreme I know but have you read these?
