I would love to see a video of you re-arranging within the groups via Voice attack.
If a camera gets a glimps of me or my messy desk with my proof of concept flight chair, it will instantly explode .

@daethwing188 pointed me to the VoiceAttack. It is his method of dynamically switching weapons in firegroups. I bought a mic, played around with voice attack, noticed that VoiceAttack really doesn't like my voice and/or my English.
After allot of practicing I finally managed to get voice attack controlling my shields. I never controlled my shields before and I noticed that shield control is no good on small fighters, evasion is the best shield control you can get ;). On bigger ships shield control will make sense.
But, VoiceAttack gave me some insight on how it controls things. I started with A.N.N.A., all functions available. It translates voice commands into key presses or with firegroup management into key presses and mouse clicks on the good coordinates.
My desktop is 4480 x 1080. Somehow I think that A.N.N.A. won't find the good coordinates :)

I know how it should be done but I didn't got the time or the urge to get it working.

It is bloody annoying that it resets you're weapon configuration every time you die. What the hell happened to persistence???!! :O

Voice attack is looking better all the time but I am sure they will get the loadout selections to make more sense.
Idealy, I like similar guns with slower overheat times. longer range and unlimited ammo on trigger 1 and the limited ammo, faster overheat and lessor range ballistic on 2. I can do it pretty quickly now but still somehow the AI seems to know I am busy and they capitilize on it and start coming for me. Flipping the switch only flips everything on 1 to 2 or vice versa so I always end up with a non optimal mix unless I manually re-arrange weapons within groups every single time I spawn. Still flipping group 1 and 2 is generally better, but not perfect, mix.
I would love to see a video of you re-arranging within the groups via Voice attack.
My logitech G13 supports keyboard/mouse macros, Roccat Powergrid supports macros, those 2 are a good alternative for Voice Attack, since my interface isn't completely compatible with VoiceAttack

My G910 supports marcos as well. I made 3 macros to do my PP_rebinds for the scripts.
I never thought of making otrher macros for it. What a great idea. Thanks!

G910 is a keyboard, the Logitech G-series Lua API supports mouse position. That should do the trick, now I only have to figure out how to get it working. Looks like scripting.
pp_rebinds with macros...... sometimes I'm really blind :D Thanks!

What I cobbled together is what I had access to from crap I stole off my other ships. I have:
Gimballed M4A X3
Gimballed Badgers X2

They're all set to go on the same firegroup and they hit pretty decently hard (Though I haven't ever flown with the fancy upgrade guns that y'all seem to rent all the time.)

For my setup, I have 3 11-Series Broadswords (1 on nose, and 1 on each wing) with 2 Tarantula GT-870s on the turret. As for setting up weapon groups, just press F6 to get to the weapons page, then F3 and a mouse cursor should pop up so you can select the weapons for each group. Since all my weapons are ballistic, I put all power to shields (personal preference). You can split it to the shields and engines (the ballistic weapons don't require energy to work). This setup works for my playstyle, give it a try.

Yup, I know that. Only problem is that you have to repeat this every time you respawn and selecting weapons goes very buggy, especially with the Super Hornet.
That is why I want to do this with a and easy fast macro.

How do you guys get the weapon groups set right? I have the damndest time in my SH because every time I set Group 1 then move my cursor to highlight group 2, the settings for group one 1. Ive been using freakin monoboats because I cant get it to work right. (I know to press F3 for hud mouse. thats how I am going about it) Any advice?
I finally found some logic behind the weapon group mess.

I wish I had an answer for you. I didn't even know there was a HUD mouse. I thought that the default weapon groups in the SH were: Group 1 (wings) and Group 2 (nose and ball turrets). I wasn't aware that you could actually change the group settings.
press F3 to get into HUD mode, F6 to get into HUD weapon grouping.

I've come across this too, it actually does work what youre clicking, its the pictures that are bugged.
I doesn't work at all, they messed up what you see in a very odd way ;) I will explain below.

That works for you? Man, I always get random combos every time i pop in and out of the menu. Wonky firing tests confirm my possessed fire-groups. Really annoying
It is very logical and there also is a bullet proof method to get it right :)

Weapon group configuration on the F7C-M
Super Hornet can be a pain to get it done right. It seems like the weapon selection is random, but there is a logic behind it.

I loaded the hornet with 2 panthers on wing, I replaced the canard turret with another Panther, I replaced the ball turret with a flashfire specialty mount.
Press F6
1st place is the canard Panther, 2nd place is the left wing Panther, 3rd place is the ball turret, 4th place is the right wing Panther. The ammo is sorted on the bottom
As you can see, fg1 has a Panther on 2nd and 4th place, fg2 has a Panther on 1st place a cannon on 3rd place.

Do you see the ammo places? fg1 on 1st and 2nd place a Panther, fg2 on 1st place a Panther and 2nd place the cannon.

If you go with your mouse over fg1, then next image will appear.
upload_2016-8-6_13-13-13.png

Don't look at the guns, look at the ammo. If you want to group all 3 Panthers in fg1, then you must select the 3rd weapon. The picture says cannon, the ammo says Panther.

Result is below, all 3 Panthers in fg1, 3rd Panther seems not to be selected, but ammo says it is selected ;)
upload_2016-8-6_13-13-33.png

If you move out off fg1 with the mouse, next image will be shown.
upload_2016-8-6_13-14-19.png

If you want to remove the Panther from fg2, then you must deselect the 1st place, but remember, when the Panther is gone, the cannon ammo will move to 1st place.

If you really messed up, you can fix this simple. Deselect all weapons from a firegroup. The ammo is matching the selected status, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place is a Panther.

Leave the firegroup with your mouse and reenter it again

As you can see, since no weapon is selected, weapon and ammo match again. Select all weapons you want to have in fg1 without get focus off fg1 (get mouse out off fg1). 1st, 2nd and 4th weapon.

With 3 Panthers and one cannon it is really simple, bullet ammo (100%) is Panther, cannon shells (120) is cannon. With mixed repeaters you can't tell on the ammo which kind off repeater you have.
I loaded the hornet with 2 panthers on wing, I mounted 2 Bulldogs on the canard turret, I mounted 2 Badgers on the ball turret.
upload_2016-8-6_13-14-56.png

1st and 2nd place is the canard turret, 3rd place is the left wing gun, 4th and 5th place is the ball turret, 6th place is the right wing gun. 2x repeater ammo in fg1, 4x repeater ammo in fg2.

If selected all weapons in fg1.
The ammo position will match with the weapon image.

If I remove the left Panther form fg1 (3rd position), leave fg1 and reenter fg1, then 1st and 2nd place will match, 3rd ammo is 4th weapon, 4th ammo is 5th weapon, 5th ammo is 6th weapon. To remove the right Panther I now must deselect the 5th ammo.

It is al little bit confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very logical ;)
[EDIT] Damn, the forum didn't follow me. Now I must repeat the whole process to get all images fixed :(
[EDIT] What a big mess to get all the pictures right in this post!!!! A crash in the middle of the fix also helps allot

I made a working script with Logitech G software. There where a few bumps on the road.
MousePosition wasn't working under SC, but mouse move worked fine so I made my own Mouse position:
Set target coordinates, get current coordinates, move a little step towards target and start over until position reached.
Setting the right guns in the right firegroup for the Super Hornet runs 1 second :D

I made a couple keyboard macros today to automate my loadout selection.
Assigned to macro Key G1. For weapon 1 I used
F6 (bring up weapons hud)
F3 (enter hud edit mode)

→ (to move to my right wing gun)
F to select it.
Then I have to mouse over weapon group 2 since I can't find a keystroke to go down a row from that point.
Then I hit Marco Key G2 which contains,

← (to move me to the beginning of the row to the nose gun. I would suggest you always start with those and work back to your gun selections)
F to, in my case deselect the nose gun. After all selections are done then it hits
F3 to exit hud edit mode
F5 to get out of hud and ready for battle.

Macros or not, those keystrokes will get you in and around the weapons hud quickly.

W is up, S is down, A is left, F is right, Q is screen left, E is screen right, F is confirm and R is cancel. ;)

that happens when you make a selection and leave the firegroup row. The images of the weapons stay the same, the ammo of the selected weapons get sorted after leaving the row. All selected weapon ammo goes to the left, not selected weapon ammo to the right.
